Anyone ever been on a Night Lights City Tour ?

1st time to Las Vegas in October! --- was wondering if anyone has ever done a Night Lights City Bus Tour. Good or Bad? Sounds interesting but couldn't seem to find any reviews on tripadvisor. Thanks!

There's really nothing there you can't see simply by walking, driving or taking the Deuce down the strip and up to the Fremont Street Experience (i.e. "downtown"). Deuce (and Gold Line) are public transit and highly cost effective if you don't have a car: rtcsouthernnevada.com/transit/fare_passes.cfm

The best deal for an evening view of the lit-up strip is happy hour at the 107 Lounge in the Stratosphere.

Google for maps of the strip/downtown to get an idea of what's where.

Though I have never taken any of these tours myself, I have heard disappointing stories from others that have. As PhillyWill states, you can get the same basic tour (minus the announcer) from the upper deck of the Deuce bus ($7 for a 24 hour pass). I have heard people rave about the view from the Strat tower, but have not experienced it myself (wife fearful of heights).

Enjoy your first time in Vegas. Give us a TR when you return.

I never took the tour, but after reading your question I did look at it.

You don't have to take a bus tour of the strip/downtown. Vegas is not like other major cities where attractions are found all over the place. Everything on the strip is at most a few miles away and you can easily get downtown on your own. There are plenty of transportation options that will allow you to get to the various attractions. There are plenty of places that have a great strip view- the Strat, Eiffel Tower, Voodoo Lounge, some of the restuarnts, etc.

Why take a bus tour and be on their schedule and see what they want you to see? You won't have the option of staying longer at any one placeor leaving earlier if that is what you want to do. On your own you can combine those sights with various restaurants, shows, lounges and bars. The fun part of Vegas is to see Vegas up close and personal- by walking around, going into just about all the casinos (you never know what is going to "click" with you- even if it isn't a major attraction), rather than being driven around in a bus- and having to pay for it.

Thanks so much for the advice - looks like I need to look into the Deuce more!

We had dinner once at the Top of the World Restaurant. The views from there are lovely. They are also wonderful from the outside deck at the VooDoo Lounge at the Rio.
