we are 2 adults and 14 yr old daughter visiting vegas on 22nd&23rd december for 2 days for the 1st time. Based on various hotel deals the following options are available $/night

1. caesers palace roman tower room-$120 with all taxes and fees

2. mandalay bay deluxe room with all day buffet.-same as above

3.Mirage deluxe room at $100 with all taxes

4.luxury suites international at signature $ 80

please advise which hotel we should consider.

For location I'd choose Caesar's Palace since it is center strip but I would not stay in the Roman Tower, old and in need of refurbishment. Only Towers at Caesars worth staying in are Forum, Palace or Augustus. Otherwise, I'd choose Mandalay Bay, it is far south on strip but a really nice hotel.

I just got something from www.smartervegas.com via email this AM, they said unadvertised specials for some hotels.

Go to www.Bellagio.com and where there's a place to put in promo code (discount) type in BPERJLY and see what you find. Location is wonderful and great hotel. They do not charge a resort fee either. In order to put in code, might have to pretend you are booking, go ahead and do that to see what prices pop up.

Also, go to www.smartervegas.com, they list codes for most all of the hotels, some good deals there and it is a very reliable website and user friendly.

i agree that caesar's roman tower is old and needs a facelift but the prices jump quite a bit for the better towers like augustus.

out of the 4 hotels you mentioned, personally i would take mirage because i like the vibe of the hotel. it has so so many restaurants on the property and quite a few shows are there as well. there is always energy in the mirage casino as well. the mirage is also close enough to walk to the wynn, venetian, treasure island, and the fashion show mall.

for $100 taxes incl, i would go for the mirage for the above reasons.

if you like a hotel without casino and non smoking and has a kitchen ...we enjoyed the trump tower very much. excellent prices for great luxury and elegance.

I would not book through a 3rd party, so Signature is out. But if you can find a good deal for a direct booking you should consider it.

Caesars is out because of the smaller, older room.

Mirage is just too small, especially the bathroom with 2 women.

So Mandalay Bay would be the clear choice. The room really matters when 3 adults are sharing it. Large rooms, with a beautiful bath that has 2 sinks and vanity areas, seperate shower and tub. The room even has 2 closets. And the hotel has everything you could need.
