My husband wants to stay at Bally's as he heard from a co-worker that is wonderful. Some of the reviews are not great. Any comments?

1. Re: Bally's?

I think Bally's is a great place to stay, very good value, great location, very clean.

The South Tower rooms are spacious but in need of a remodel, the furniture is generally quite scratched up. For me, I have always been able to get a South Tower room on the side with the Eiffel Tower and partial Bellagio view and that is worth it to me.

There are usually great r & b bands playing in the Indigo Lounge and good dining options on the walkway connecting Bally's to Paris. Decent slot selection and often there are $5 table games (not always on weekends though).

Bally's is not perfect, the long moving sidewalks into the property can be monotonous. I have returned to Bally's quite a few times myself and will again.

I've stayed there a few times. My only negative experience was when I "upgraded" to Grand Suite. That room was beat up and outdated beyond belief. However, their basic rooms are great. They are quite large and spacious. North Tower rooms have been renovated and have a contemporary look to them. The South Tower rooms are definately dated and showing some wear and tear but I have never had an issue of cleanliness. The advantage of the South Tower rooms is that unless you are on one of the lowest floors you are guaranteed as spectacular Strip view. Bally's is a great value and a fine mid-range property. Location does get any better. But, not the place if you are looking for oppulent luxury.

I agree with MichaelonLI. I've stayed at Bally's numerous times and never had a complaint. My most recent stay win in May 2010, and I will stay at Bally's again. The "regular" rooms are larger than many hotels on the strip. Your choice for Bally's is a good one; center strip.

Great location

Good value

Pool just OK but better than some (longer walk though)

Casino smaller and easy to navigate

Connected to Paris (more dining and gambling options)

S. Tower rooms are dated but clean and large

Friendly staff

If you like the mega casinos like MGM etc Bally's isn't that.

You will also see a more mature crowd there...not so much the party pit atmosphere @ other places...

I have stayed several times (most recently this past August) and I like Bally's and would definitely stay again.

Last time I was in Vegas, we stayed at Bally's and not a single complaint. Was upgraded to a Jr suite in the South Tower with a decent partial view of the Strip but even the regular rooms are bigge than most.

Great location and although not as many dining options as other hotel casino's, being connected to the Paris made that a moot point.

Go for it!

The old tower is not just outdated, it is downright grim and depressing

Oh I so agree with BBB. Ballys location is superb but I would not stay in any other room than one in the north tower. It is my understanding that the south tower is what is left from the old MGM that had a major fire decades ago?

Can be said about ANY hotel's reviews. Also means some of the reviews are great. Glass half empty or half full?

I love Bally’s and have stayed in both towers.

If you are hesitant then get a North Tower Room. I know what to expect so a South Tower room is fine for me. But, the furniture is beyond dated; the views are great. I find Bally’s rooms one of the quietest on the strip.

You can check out the photos of the rooms at the TA hotel review section. You will be able to see the old and renovated rooms before you make a decision.

Stayed at Bally's for the first time back in the spring. I was upgraded to a corner room (aka jr suite), after offering a $20 tip to the clerk (and yes, that is what did it because she had just told me the upgrade was available for $40 a night) in the North Tower. Very nice. Always clean and plenty of towels, comfortable bed. (those are my top requirements for a good stay).

Bally's is a great place. Their casino may be a little smaller than some others, but it has a lot of great slots. It being connected to Paris makes it seem like one big hotel. The location of the hotel is excellent. Easy walk to the Strip and lots of other properties.

My only complaint was the hugely long line at checkin. They only had two (then it dropped to one) checkin clerk on duty and the line was at least 20 parties long, and even longer when I got finished.

Hope you have a great time!!
