bed bugs

Atlantic City is having a real problem with bed bugs. New York is having a big problem all over. If you look at the bed bug registery it looks like Vegas is not as bad. In new york even our schools, movie theaters, they are all over.I go to Atlantic City a lot , i have a New Years trip planned, staying at Harrahs we will see what happens.I will be in Vegas 2/20/11 staying at Harrahs.

According to the press here in the UK, the whole of the USA is currently having a problem with bed bugs.

Not sure what's causing it, but as long as they're not eating my cookies I'm not too concerned!

Cheers

Davy !!!

Virtually every hotel on the strip and downtown has been listed on the registry for "incident" reports. All except the El Cortez if I recall...

I wouldn't fret. Many of these are old or vague. Do a quick inspection of your room and rest easy...

Bed bugs are everywhere, even in five star hotels. Be sure to check your room and if you find anything suspicious demand the hotel to clean your clothes and luggage and move you to an non-adjacent room immediately where you can wait for your clothes and luggage to be cleaned. Getting bit at night is not so bad as bringing the bugs home with you.

My husband and I found one in our hotel bed in Vegas and this hotel was not a dive by any stretch of the imagination! We asked for our luggage and clothes to be treated, and I am not sure if it would have happened if we had not, but we are both so glad that we did after doing the research post trip, as having our home treated for a bed bug infestation would have taken our vacation monies for the next couple of years (if not more!).

I think a few years ago, the bed bug problem was mainly in hotels. I saw a news article that explained the bed bud epidemic in the US and UK.

It's not travelers anymore, it's outsourced manufacturing. High End stores in New York have been shut down because of a box of scarves coming from a country that isn't as concerned as we are about bed bugs.

So check your mattress under the sheets by the seam..
