Why tip dealer's ? Do's or Don'ts

Why do you, or Don't you tip the dealer ?

I ask this because some dealers don't deserve a tip...or do they ?

I don't think so, if there rude,or smart azz's

they get paid some sort of wage im sure...I don't think they live off of tip's...

Anyway Im thinking of not tipping the craps dealers anymore..maybe the Blackjack dealer.

I only tip if its going to be a winning session and if they weren't rude or statues.

The tips are pooled. Why do you think they go into the locked metal boxes? It doesn't matter it they're surly or happy as a lark. They all get a cut. And at some casinos, the pit bosses are also cut in.

I tip, even if I'm losing, but not if I sat down for five minutes and lost the entire hundred dollar buy in. It's happened once or twice. ;) But I try to tip, spread the love, as much as possible, to as many people as possible. Not just in Vegas through - that's just my every day way of living. I like to pay it forward.

I always tip the dealers at a craps tables. Many of them make minum wage and the work they do at a craps table would drive me (a CPA) crazy. It also helps them take care of my bets. ;-)

Cheers!

I have never failed to tip a waiter or waitress. Maybe if I got completely rotten service I would, but so far, the worst server I got still was tipped.

Sme way, I'll tip at the tables. The dealers are providing a service. They deserve to be tipped.

I tip craps dealers by putting a min bet on the pass line every time I shoot, and then something when I leave.

You want them on your side. Craps is the only table game where you can call out your bet; I don't do that often, but when I do, I want it honored.

Tip decently and you'll almost always get the benefit of the doubt in anything that might otherwise turn into a dispute. There's also a good chance you'll get rated higher than you deserve by the box.

During my hours on the LIR table, I frequently put nickles up on the 3 card bonus for the dealer and all I've met prefer the bet because they can possibly win a large amount to put in the tip-share can. Many times they get very lucky...I even once hit a mini-royal for a $250 dealer win.....Even some of the coldest dealers warm up and become more friendly when you place bets for them!

Like a lot of people, I only tip if I'm winningj. Also, I'll tip if they're friendly and talkative, and/or if she's hot looking, which isn't too often!!

I agree with "playing" for the dealer with a tip on LIR or BJ. It is more fun and they really appreciate it. Normally, I will do it if I hit a BJ or 2 pair or better on LIR. If I catch just a payout pair with the last hole card on LIR, I won't normally tip. I will also decrease my tipping for crabby or complaining dealers. My biggest dealer pet peeve is complaining about smoking. You work in casino. Not that I or anyone I know would blow smoke at a dealer or anyone else, but some dealers get a attitude if you smoke. Good way to lose tips from me.

Also, it's not customary to tip dealers! You don't have to. You'll see lots of people doing it, but you'll also see just as many not doing it. Nobody will bat an eyelash if you don't tip them. And what's the dealer going to do if you don't?? "Hey, he didn't tip so I'm going to give him a bust card every time!!!" It's probably a nice gesture though if you do, especially if you're winning.
