is sam's town worth the visit?

just booked our xmas present to each other, arriving feb 6th for 4 nights. staying at bally's since the price couldn't be beat. wondering if its worth a visit to sam's town. we visited south point last september and enjoyed an evening there. also if you have any other off strip places that are worth the visit feel free to let us know.

if visiting casinos is yor thing and want to go off strip to do so then unless you have been to Green Valley Ranch, Hard Rock, Red Rock, The M Sunset Station, Aliante Station and several others there is no reason to go to Sams.

I went there a long time ago with a local. There was nothing there that made me want to return. The only reason I would go there is if I were visiting other casinos on that strip, especially Eastside Cannery which is one of the newer ones.

I would try to get to M Resort or Silverton over Sam's.

I like Sam's Town. They have a lovely atrium with an animated show a couple times per day. It features different animals, i.e. wolves, birds, beavers, bear and other animals. It is a 2 story casino which also has a Sheplor's Western Wear shop. If you're into bingo, they have a huge hall.

Actually, I don't see anything special about Green Valley Ranch.

Very sImple: Ask yourself, "Do I want to visit Sam's Town"

If your answer is 'Yes,' then it's worth visiting.

It is really hard to say if a casino (or anything else) is "worth it" to someone. You never know if something is going to "click" with you or not. For example- so many people love the M Resort. When I finially visited- it really didn't do anything for me. I can't say I hated it, but I would not return, no matter how many others love it. But I am glad I went that one time. It was "worth it" to me to find out it didn't "click" with me.

So, if you have been to Vegas many times and have some time to explore- yes, visit Sam's Town (it does have a nice atrium and great VP).....as well as Red Rock (which I personally love), Green Valley Ranch, Silverton, Hard Rock and -yes- even the M Resort. You are never going to know if you like something or not until you visit it yourself and can make up your own mind.

We like the laser fountain show they have in the evening (it's free), they have good vp also. We eat at the buffet, the price is reasonable on Tuesday nights and you get a dollar off with your player's card. It's not as good as the Bellagio, but better than the buffet at the Flamingo, Luxor, Excalibur, etc.
