Honeymoon in Vegas

Hi, we will be spending part of our honeymoon in vegas in may, looking for a nice modern hotel with a good heated pool, we've stayed in some hotels in the US in the past (florida) and they were really old fashioned with flowerly bed clothing and a smell of smoke, we both love modern clean hotels and it being our honeymoon are looking for something special, any help for us Irish greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Take a look at Aria...probably has the most modern decor, unless someone can put in their opinion on Cosmopolitan (I haven't paid attention to what the inner decor looks like)

I would recommend

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas- New Hip hotel that just opened in December 2010. Location on the Las Vegas Strip.

Encore- Sister Property of Wynn on the Strip.

Wynn- Nice 5 star hotel on the Strip.

Palazzo- Nice 5 star hotel on the Strip.

Vdara- New smoke free hotel.

Hope this helps

We stayed in signature for our honeymoon and while we loved it, after returning to Vegas a few times since would not recommend the location. Vdara is v nice, try to upgrade to more than the basic room. I was unable to get a free upgrade so only got the standard room which was still v nice. Location still a little disconnected from casinos tho.

Another option mite b a suite at the mirage. Or a room at Venetian or wynn. I suppose it depends on ur budget tho. Book with hotel and try to get promo codes on smartervegas.com or travelzoo. If the rates drop, u can change the rate to the lower one. I've done this lots of times! Congratulations and good luck! Xx

I love Four Seasons and Signature, but if you want more of a modern, hipster type feel, check out THEHotel at Mandalay Bay.

thanks guys at the moment we've been pricing through a travel agent here as the prices on the hotel sites seem to be waaayyy more than the flights and accommodation from our agent. There is so much to think about I want to do alot of research before I go to get it just right. I've heard that the Mirage has a lovely pool area etc and is right in the heart of things, has anyone any direct experience of this hotel?

The Mirage is a great hotel but I think the pool area is small and can get cramped in the summer months. I remember the 1st time we stayed there, we had to hunt down 2 chairs next to each other.

One of the reasons we like Aria is that they have multiple pools so you can find a pool that suits your needs - if you want to party, they have it and if you want to relax, they have it. There is also a pool that seems to be geared more toward familes.
