Age for young adults 17/18 booking in hotels?

I've booked for The Mirage in May and now son and girlfriend desperately want to visit Vegas as well.

Due to cost are there any other hotels where they can book in, without an age restriction?

Almost all promotions require that the person using it be 21, for obvious reasons. So they probably couldn't use these. I would recommend going to the website of the hotels that interest you, and without using any casino promotions carfully read the Terms and Conditions. If they do not have a credit card in their own name that could obviously be a problem in booking online.

Of course you could make the reservation in your name, but you would have to be there to check in, and would be responsible for any charges or problems.

I really think your only option is to book the room in your name, check in and let them stay in it. They would just have to pay you back.

And I will state the obvious...they really won't be able to do much "Vegas" stuff at their age. They can't stop in the casino to watch, no clubs, no bar areas....they can shop, swim, see shows and sight see - not a ton of fun...it will be just a tease for them and they have 4 more years to wait until 21.

I don't want to be a downer and I don't know what the laws are in your country, but here if your child is 18 and their significant other is 17 it is against the law to take the 17 year old across state lines and even if the minor's parents really like the 18 year old they can always change their minds later and have them charged with serious sex crime for which they can do jail time. This happened to a friend of mine's son.

I would advise thinking this through.

I was wondering. You are the parents of either the 17 or 18 year old right?

And you are O.K. with supporting the two of them staying together in a hotel room?

I guess you can call me old fashioned......but????

There is a Walgreens nearby for contraceptives, cigarettes and pregnancy tests. Just let the 18 yr old "adult" make the purchase...

Las Vegas Hilton you can check in with own Credit card at 18.

I looked into this for my daughter and when I called they said no problem.

Thanks everyone, this advice has been more than useful.

I have a 50tth Birthday and 2 sons who didnt want to come with us ( we asked for a contribution to the costs) Now the youngest changed his mind.

I think Vegas isnt the place for them.....We're not racy gambling people either but want to soak up the atmosphere, see the Grand Canyon and enjoy a different Birthday experience.

For those of you questioning us allowing them to share a room ...... We're not mad keen on the idea but in England now everything has changed.... many teenagers are out of control.....sleeping around .... very embaressing...We decided with many chats its right to choose 1 girl have good morals and be careful.... They have been together 18 months and are sweet kids :)
