Grand Canyon - West or South rim?

We're planning a bus trip to the Grand Canyon from Vegas. I have never been anywhere near here (we live in Canada), and looking online, I am seeing tours for the "South Rim" and the "West Rim". Sorry if this is a stupid question -- but is one "side" better than the other? Which should we plan to go to?

Thanks

The South Rim is where everything is.. All the Hotels, Visitors centers and tours are all on the south rim. The west rim is more remote and it takes hours longer to get to. The view on both sides is truly breathtaking so in that regard, you can't lose. The only downside with the south rim is that it gets crowded. Although we were there in April last year and it wasn't bad.

Enjoy!

We visited the West Rim and Yes it took 3 to 4 hours to get there by minibus. The benefit was that in the time we were there we saw a total of 14 people including the 8 from our own tour!!
