Decent budget hotels

Hi guys, going to LV in april with my boyfriend. On a bit of a budget but would like a nice room with nice pool area. Would excalibur widescreen rooms be ok? Looks nice but reviews have scared me!

We stayed in a Widescreen room in 2008. The room was quite nice. Pool area was nice (without the "pool party" atmosphere that others have) and it also has an adults only pool area.

Be aware that Excalibur (like all MGM properties) is now charging a daily resort fee of @ $14/day. Factor this in when comparing rates to other properties.

On a budget and nice rooms don't really go together :)

Check out Ballys & Bills. I think I'm right in saying that guests at one CET property can use the pools at other CET properties. So you could use the pool at Caesars or Flamingo (those pool areas are 2 of the nicer ones).

Someone else should be able to confirm or deny the pool situation. My information is a bit old so it may have changed.

If we knew what the budget was, in US Dollars, and the dates of your travel, it would be so much easier to help.

Depending on what part of the month of April you're coming, the pool might not be a factor as it may not be warm enough.

Tropicana maybe.

HI

Not stayed at the Stratosphere myself but I see you can get their newly remodled rooms for only $45 a night plus tax and resort fee (I think $7)

Heres a link to a review of the new select rooms, if as good as the pics, then quite a good deal

Check the Orleans. We stay there often. Reasonable rates, large rooms, nice pool area and the food is good. Off the strip but good access to it by shuttle. If you have a car even better.

I assume you want something on the Strip?? Downtown has quite a few budget hotels that are better than "decent!!"

Check out the Imperial Palace, certainly not a glamorous place but right in the middle of the Strip at reasonable rates.

My sister stayed recently at Imperial Palace and said it was OKnot too fancy, but clean and her room was not undown or worn. I understand there is a part of the hotel in back that you don't want to visit, but the rest of it is better. It's a perfect strip location. Sometimes Ballys offers good deals. It's a nice strip hotel. Harrahs is usually a little more expensive. Have a great trip.

I would also reccomend the Stratosphere Tower. It is a bit far, but after reading and seeing the review from another poster, I am sold. It looks like it got a HUGE facelift.
