Penthouse Suite (not hotel room)

In the real early stages of planning my brother's bachelor party. Since there will be 8 of us, I looked into affordable suites. I have only stayed in casino/resorts and not anything like this before.

Here is the link to the specific one we are looking at, it says it's next to the Bellagio so I'm guessing it may be at the Jockey Club? Looks nice.

What are your thoughts, your advice, or experiences in doing something like this?

Will it be pedestrian friendly (we do not want to rent a car)?

Are you saying you want one suite for 8 people?

"it says it's next to the Bellagio so I'm guessing it may be at the Jockey Club? Looks nice." But you don't know for sure? Is this an opaque travel site?

Yeah, 4 bedrooms, a pull out sofa, and to be quite honest I have no problem sleeping on the floor. We're trying to keep the cost down to entice some non-travelers to come for the first time.

for that price you can get 2 rooms with double beds, and no one would be on the floor-

edit, if you look at the pictures you can see the pictures have not been updated since before city center, who knows how it looks now.

Four bedrooms would be rare for a suite. Not to mention eight guys sharing two bathrooms doesn't sound like fun. I agree with gotpunk's suggestion on getting two adjoining rooms....not that the guys-to-bathroom ratio would be any more fun. Personally, I'd try to go for three standard rooms (if pullout sofas were an option) or even four.

To add to my thought...since your crew seems willing to pay around $45 per person to share a room, there are definitely plenty of standard rooms you can find for less than $90/night that two people can share. Of course, if you planned to stay on the Strip over the weekend, that idea is out the window.

I remember emailing JC about this a few years ago, and they said that it was legit. But, it might not hurt to give them a call and inquire. I think I spoke to a guy named Jonny

I don't really understand people saying get 2 double rooms with double beds, that's 4 rooms, the same as the suite we're looking at. This suite is prime location as well and looks to be nicer than an average room.

Also, of the 8 people, 2 are my brothers and 1 is my Dad. It's not like it's 8 drunken obnoxious 21 year olds.

We're looking at May of 2012, and my wife and I will be at the Luxor in April. I'm trying to set it up to see if I can check the suite out while I'm in town. One poster made a very good observation about how the pictures showed that City Center wasn't built yet, so checking the room out this April will be beneficial.

I was just curious if anyone has seen or stayed at this particular location, or if anyone had any tips or advice as this isn't the traditional resort/casino room I've always stayed in. Thanks for the replies~

Yeah looking at that photo, the suite looks to be on the side that faces Cosmo (i.e. is up against Cosmo.) So my guess is that there will little natural light coming in and no view what so ever but if you are checking it out beforehand there will be no surprises.

Sorry if my contribution was more opinion rather than actual experience. I guess I was exposing my personal bias about sharing that amount of space with seven other people and a bed with someone that wasn't my SO.

I've seen similar posts in the past from "newbies" looking to cut costs. But it sounds like you've been to Vegas before and have an idea of what you're getting into. So I sincerely hope that the unit is what you hope it will be when you check it out in April.
