I like both Zeffirino and Canaletto at the Venetian, but there are too many to list!

If you are going dowtown, there is a pretty good one in the Golden Nugget. The decore is pretty lame, but the food is great. Reasonable prices and the waiters sing (if you are into that).

I really like Bertolini's at Caesars Palace- it's inside the forum shops. They have a website you can check out- i just type it into a search engine to find it. Loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere--- it was just wonderful

By far the best eggplant is at Capo's on tropicana. The place is incredible east coast italian. The ambiance is private and old school romantic. Nico Santucci built it and if you've seen his other places you know how cool it is.

Check it out.

First I suggest you forget about Battistas Hole in the Wall, it is nothing more that canned tomato sauce and retched wine. The best IMO is the Pasta Shop, better than any on the strip, and a whole lot less expensive. But FWIW here is what Zagat surveys have to say in three categories. Please note who is on top of all list and price. Battistas is not even on the radar.

Key to the ratings:

26-30 Extraordinary to perfection

20-25 Very good to excellent

16-19 Good to very good

10-15 Fair to good

0-9 Poor to fair

Quality>Service>Atmosphere>Price Per Person Including 1 Drink.

Hmmm....I wonder what the difference is between Northern and Southern Italian? Probably more fried stuff in the south?

Southern Italian cooking uses more pasta, tomatoes and olive oil. Northern Italian uses more rice, butter and cream based sauces.

Italian/American restaurants tend to mix things up a bit but if you went to Italy you would notice the difference.

Circo @ Bellagio is a wonderful Italian Restaurant.

It is pricey, but the atmosphere and the Chef is top notch and worth the cost.
