Want to go to CDS for the first time in Vegas. My husband and I and 22 and 18 year old girls. Which one would you recommend for first timers?
O @ Bellagio - Water show; spectacular
Le Reve @ Wynn - Not CDS, but created by one of their founders. A water show, more mysterious and challenging than O. Features dancing. Beautiful custom theater.
it is so subjective. you will get everyone of them named as so and so's fav.
on here, the most common 'fav' is probably LOVE. We've been to 12 including touring shows, seen LOVE, O, KA, Zumanity & Mystere in Vegas. MY fav is KA, which gets alot of negative reviews from folks on here as too boring. AND, it does lack the circus acts and clowns- it's an artistic playwith a storyline.
My humble advice, to someone who has never seen a Cirque show- and that was my parents 2 years ago. I recommended Mystere. It is a classic traditional cirque show. some clowning. Audience participation, and circus acts that are unbelievable.
LOVE is based on the Beatles music of course, so unless your daughters have been made quite aware of their music prior to- they'll enjoy it, but not 'get' it. O is a bizarre water show, but there's another non cirque called LeReve I'd say is slightly better. I havent seen elvis or angel, but angel is slammed on here for being bad. So all that to say my vote for a 1st time cirque show would be Mystere to learn/see what a traditional Cirque show is all about.
ENJOY! I know you will. And the seating is all intimate so dont worry about seats, theres never a bad one unless they tell you limited view
I really enjoyed "Love". "O" would be my second choice. Both have plenty of action to keep the attention of your girls.
Although not as popular as some other CDS shows..I highly recommend Zoomanity at NYNY. I found it stimulating.
zumanity is for 21 & over no exceptions.
as for the girls enjoying LOVE, reverse the roles and imagine you listening to their music for 2 hrs while acts take place. Again thats unless they are already big Beatles fans. it's not the wont enjoy the show- thy just wont get it as you will
I was unaware you had to be that old to see Zumanity. I agree with Punk on Love...Beatles sold a lot of songs. I like their stuff..but the younger generation have no idea who these people are. I certainly don't care to listen to music my grandparents grew up on.
My favorites remain Love (with the emphasis on the music) and Mystere. I thought O was just o.k.. If you want a Cirque- like show with a water theme, I would choose Le Reve over O. I didn't like Ka at all. The stage was great, but the show did not interest me.
punkado - 2 hours of a Lady Gaga CDS! It could catch on!
First timers should go to Mystere. It is the definitive Cirque show.
LOVE, a psychedelic trip through the career of The Beatles, has a cute love story intertwined within the weirdness. The girls could get a kick out of that. Who knows?
