Staying at the MGM for 3 nights

The husband and I will be in Vegas for 3 nights in Sept. for a trade show. My 1st time there so I'm really excited... Booked at the MGM.. I don't know what to expect at all and hope I have made a decent choice.. Are there shuttles up and down the strip or something similar? I know "the strip" is a big place so forgive my naivity.. I try to do some research before every trip, always knowing there are lots of surprises.. That's 1/2 the fun though... the adventure of it all!

Anyway, in our 50's, stay on the go all the time and travel several times a year... Love to drink good wine and eat good food... In general, just looking for an adventure.. oh yeah... no old fuddy-duddys here

No shuttles, although there are buses, a few free trams, and the monorail has a stop at the rear of MGM, which will be very convenient if your trade show is at the Convention Center.

MGM has an excellent variety of dining options from a food court to gourmet restaurants. Enjoy exploring.

Thanks... It is at the convention center... Also, I have been seeing people in the forum mention coupons for discounts on buffets, etc..... Someone clue me in, please... Also what is the best happy hour for my age group.. Good music and not boring but not rowdy either?

You can learn a lot just looking at the MGM website.

Here is a link to a popular happy hour site that will be helpful:

MGM's buffet is not the best.

The monorail would be an excellent way to get to and from the convention center. Catch it right at the back of MGM. They have multi-day passes which are a pretty good deal. You'll find all the details at http://www.lvmonorail.com.

You are going to love the MGM pool complex.

The Bellagio fountains are within easy walking distance and start up at 3:00 p.m on weekdays and noon on weekends.

Make sure you take the bus downtown one night--don't get there too late though--the VisaVision overhead shows end at midnight and you have to see at least one!

And get a several day pass for the MonoRail and take a round trip to see some of the sights. For the most part, the MonoRail stops at the rear of chosen hotels and you have to hike out to the Strip, but it is still a fun way to get somewhere!
