I’d like to take this thread and extend special recognition and gratitude to so many that made Sumfest a week we’ll remember for a lifetime. To keep this thread Vegas-related, I included some comments about the venues visited during Sumfest. ☺
TA_Mike – Trip Advisor and the Las Vegas forum created countless friendships and serves as a portal and communication home base for this Las Vegas family to gather and share Las Vegas memories, plans, and experiences. Trip Advisor brought this amazing group of people together (regulars, occasional visitors, lurkers, and everyone else) and your attendance at Sumfest was an honor. Thank you TA_Mike for attending and hanging out with a sampling of the Vegas forum family. Thank you for also bringing a TA banner to proudly display and the TA key chains, mints, and visors.
2b – The creator and anchor of Sumfest. Thank you for making Sumfest a goal for you and allowing me to add FR as an event two months before Sumfest. You didn’t give up or give in on any planning (or other things for that matter ☺ ) and the week was a tremendous success. Ducky’s birthday hat was the perfect “crown” to kick off Sumfest activities at Seahorse. Thank you for coordinating with TA, Caesars for the cabanas, Jacktar and Harrahs for the M&M and all the organizational elements that brought a week’s itinerary of fun to life. A huge thanks to Mr. 2b for his help with the events as well, and welcoming attendees at the M&M.
u2tuf – Thank you for your coordination efforts and finding, mailing, and distributing 20 pounds of shiny gambling beads for everyone to enjoy. Thank you and Mr. Fish as well for your help with the M&M setup, welcoming of attendees, and coordinating logistics.
JackTarlover – Thank you once more for securing The Piano Bar for us. It was the ideal venue, the staff was super-friendly, and everyone felt like VIPs entering the popular establishment as attendees of a closed event.
The Piano Bar at Harrahs is a popular spot for gathering and to
hear the dueling pianos. Carnaval court is also steps away.
There is fun to be had at Harrahs – the people and the
atmosphere ooze of high energy and happy times.
Chachachio – Thank you for sponsoring the blingiest event I’m sure the Chandelier Bar has seen yet. Everyone blinged-out to the nines and enjoyed the atmosphere, unique drinks, and the company.
The Chandelier Bar at The Cosmopolitan is a three-level bar
with unique cocktail menus on each floor. From your favorite
beer to unique cocktails including liquid nitrogen raspberries,
there’s plenty to see and taste here. The Chandelier Bar is
located in the center of the casino.
Lowrance (AKA Moses, of course) - Thank you for sponsoring probably one of the very few drinking tours led by a biblical figure Las Vegas (well, at least Rhumbar and Kahunaville) has ever seen. Everyone gladly became a member of the flock and all 50+ of us made a splash for sure.
Rhumbar at The Mirage is a terrific spot for great concoctions.
From mojitos to frozen drinks to pina coladas on the rocks,
Rhumbar has a tasty libation for many tastes.
Kahunaville at TI is THE happening spot! An electric and high-
energy atmosphere combined with a menu of eats and a wide
variety of specialty drinks….including the BIG KAHUNA.
Friendly staff and bartenders with flare are ready to welcome
you to the Kahunaville experience.
Texas Teejay – Thank you for adopting more sistas for shots n slots. You led the way through the high limit room and dollar world and a few followers had terrific hits. You are queen of the slots, and were crowned accordingly at the M&M with your flashing, blinky tiara.
Shrek61 – Thank you for hosting poker day. Everyone had a blast and there was even some estrogen participation. ☺ All participants had a terrific time and learned a thing or two, but most importantly spent great time with friends.
HarlemGirl – Thank you for sponsoring Thursday evening at Voodoo Lounge. Lots of dancing and drinking (hopefully BrokenAlice got her dance on!). Voodoo was a great compliment to poker day earlier.
Voodoo Lounge at Rio is a place for good times and a view of
the strip while enjoying their famous WitchDoctor cocktail!
The lounge offers all you can drink for a set price or traditional
TopekaDucky – Thank you for arranging the final Sumfest event of breakfast at HHAGG. It just so happened it was Mr. Ducky’s birthday which worked out well (haha!). It was a gracious end to a fantastic week.
Another round of thanks to The TTJs and Retrosingle for bringing gifts from home for Sumfest attendees. I’ve read many have their lucky penny in a favorite place and I have my seeds ready to plant in a couple of months. Thank you for being so thoughtful.
Thank you also to NYGreg, who through one of his contacts arranged limo service from Seahorse to the sign and finally to FR. It was a wonderful gesture for you to coordinate even though you were not a part of the trip itself.
I’ve read several trip reports thanking these very same people but thought to give another HUGE round of applause and thank you for their participation in Sumfest. After all, organizing a variety of events over several days for over 80 Sumfesters descending on to Las Vegas is not a trivial task.
THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH!
