Planet Hollywood - bad reports

We are booked for Planet Hollywood for May 2012 as part of a USA wedding trip, we are getting married in Vegas while we are there....

I've been keeping an eye on all the reviews on here and i'm starting to get concerned as PH seems to be getting an awful lot of bad ones....

Its our 1st trip to Vegas and I want everything to be perfect?

Is Planet Hollywood a good choice? I'm 37, hubbie-2-be is 40 while we are in Vegas.

Haa anyone been lately who can put my mind to rest or let me know in plenty of time to change.

We are staying in the "Chancellor hotel" in san fran and the "Renaissance" in LA, either side of vegas trip - to give you an idea of hotel choices Ive made.

Getting married at "little chapel of Flowers".

"Its our 1st trip to Vegas and I want everything to be perfect?"

It's not going to be perfect - nothing is perfect. It may well be fantastic, but not perfect. It's too early to begin wobbling, foreseeing and fearing a disaster based on reviews by complete strangers. Half of anything is psychological. You, not outside events beyond your control, will actually determine whether you have a great and memorable wedding or not.

Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.

If you would have asked in advance PH would not have been my 1st recommendation, but that doesn't mean it won't be nice.It is a mid-level property, but you knew that by the price, and probably not a bargain especially so far in advance.

A mentioned it doesn't have a very nice pool----but that is by Las Vegas standards where it is compared to some amazing ones. My biggest complaint about PH is the noise level. It is being marketed to a younger crowd so the noise level is high to attract that group.

Because it is part of a package you probably can't change easily or cheaply, so don't worry about it. Las Vegas is wonderful in May and you will have a great time.

I'm glad after reading your answers that I'm not the only person in the world that likes to book up early......lol

I was starting to think i was strange!!! haha

I do like to be organised, and I'm actually enjoying the long run-up to the holiday, part of the fun is the planning (apart from the odd wobble).

Can't wait for the trip (perfect with hitches!!)

I recently stayed there four nights. My only (very minor) complaints were the lack of sufficient closet and drawer space to fully unpack, and the pool was very ordinary. The rest of the resort was first rate, very fun and "vegas-like" and the location is great. I don't think you should be concerned at all with your choice. There are more luxurious resorts to be sure, but at higher prices and if you spend as little time as I do actually in the room and awake, you will be glad you did not spend the extra money.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with ph. We stayed there for the 2nd time in June and loved the place, 2 nights in Hollywood hip room and upgraded 2 nights on a panoramic suite, well worth it. The bad reviews on here put me off a little to even though iv stayed there before, I was thinking has it gone down hill, but it's just some people are never happy, miserable gits who shouldnt be in Vegas if there gonna do that much moaning. I mean they might go out of there way to take a pic of a cracked tile somewhere , so when they can get back home they can post it on here and whinge about it, to try to bring people down. Some people are never happy, go enjoy the ph and I guarantee you will love it like we did, wish I could go back tomorrow, :(

PH is centrally located - younger vibe. Strip house steakhouse is great, buffet is good - attached to the miracle mile shops (high end). Its mid range. So there are places many would consider better like Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn etc and there are places some would consider worse Circus Circus, Riviera

Dont sweat it - congrats and have a great time!

I agree with Ktinca. You've already made the plans, and they won't be easy or cheap to change. You just need reassurance that all will be well. It will be fine. I'm in my 60s, so, like most people my age, it's not one of my favorites--but that doesn't mean it isn't nice. They play music that appeals to younger people in the casino, but that's not a big deal. It's just fine. I think you'll have a nice time.

It has a big shopping mall connected to it. That will be fun for you. It's in a good location, not far off center strip. Paris is right next door. You can walk to most anywhere along the strip.

We've only stayed there once. Our rooms seemed a little dark, but it wasn't bad at all. It seems a little more crowded than some rooms because they put things they've used in famous movies in there for you to enjoy. We had LOST IN SPACE stuff. That will be fun. We looked out onto the Cosmo and off to the side were the Bellagio fountains.

Our bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice and big. It had a big soaking tub. Housekeeping was good. They came every morning.

Don't worry about Planet Hollywood. It's not dirty or moldy or anything like that. I think you will like it just fine.

Planet Hollywoods rooms are OK but not great. They are clean eith a large bathroom, but they are noisy and too dark.
