What do you do when you arrive in Vegas early?

We have been discussing early check in recently it got me wondering what do people do when they arrive in Vegas in the morning or early afternoon prior to 3:00 check in.

Do you try to check in hoping the room is ready? Not bother and just check your bags? After a long flight would you be willing to pay the hotel an extra $20 to get your room if it is ready?

We always land in Vegas at 10:30 at night so have not had this issue.

I've been lucky. I have checked in as early as 11 a.m. and was able to get a room right away.

Never had to wait around at all.

But I would pay $20 to get a room earlier as opposed to waiting around for hours. What's $20 in Vegas??? lol

We always go and check in. Sometimes the room is ready and sometimes it isn't. If it isn't we just give our bags to the bell desk to hold for us then we take a walk, buy some necessities, have lunch etc until it is time to call and see if our room is ready. If it still isn't we will just play a few games and relax until it is.

We have been lucky as we only had to wait once for our room.

See if you can check in early, first. I was sometimes lucky enough to get a room at 9-10 am. Otherwise, I'd check my bag and head for the casino. I've not had to do that for some time since I usually now arrive at around 4-5pm. They didn't have the $20 early checkin back then, but I would spring for $20 if possible just to avoid having to do it later after getting into the gambling....and the alcohol:-)

i often take the flight to vegas that arrives at 1pm and 90% of the time i'm able to check in and get my room.

if i can't, i just leave my bags with the front desk and go for lunch or gamble :)

We have been able to check in early whenever that has been necessary, but part of the luck has been because we tend to go mid-week rather than on weekends.

Next month we check into CP at noon and hope to get a room right away so we can go to the pool. We will have packed with that in mind so will be able to change for the pool and leave the luggage with the bell desk if no rooms are available. Again, it will be a Wed so we hope a room will be ready early. Would not be willing to pay extra with so many other ways to spend a few hours.

When the room is not avaiable, check the bags and head out for something to eat and drink. Depending on how long the wait is, we hit some tables games and slots until the room is ready.

I always try to check in first. If no room is available, I leave my luggage at the bell desk and do what I would have done if a room had been available- start my vacation-gamble!

No, I wouldn't pay $20 just to get to my room.

We generally arrive around 10:30 a.m. and have been lucky that the room is ready. Drop our bags - quick unpack and then hit the casino!!
