TR--3 Nights at the Bellagio

Just spent 3 nights at the Bellagio to celebrate my 50th Birthday. Our party consisted of me, DH, DD-22 and DD-18. My DH and I had only been to Vegas once before and that was 21 years ago. So, obviously, it was like our first time!

DAY ONE: Left on a 9:00 am flight from Houston, TX direct to Las Vegas. Actually landed about 20 minutes early. Got bags quickly. Took a Taxi to Bellagio and said no tunnel. Only $17.00 plus tip! Check in at Bellagio was quite slow. We were on a line that didn't move. Our front desk person seemed very young and new and that added to it, I think. We had guaranteed Queen beds in a lake view room. First were told none were available this early. Then no queens that whole first night. But, I said were guaranteed 2 queens. After calling the manager, etc. to locate a room, we were able to check in. Were upgraded to deluxe room on 28th floor, center. Not only great fountain view, but great view of strip and mountains in the distance. Also the room was quite large with a great bathroom. I am confused if it's old or new room. Had flat screen, but was still yellow??

The first impression you get walking in to the Bellagio is amazing. Really loved the glass ceiling, etc. Don't really get the hot air balloons. The conservatory was gorgeous. The summer theme out there and decorations in rest of hotel don't really look Italian though.

Were all starving so went to Cafe Bellagio, (open 24 hours), for an early lunch. Great sandwiches, turkey burger and my older daughter got the Monday special, Ahi Tuna.

I explored and gambled a little and rest of family enjoyed the pool. All went to Bellagio Buffet at 5:45 as we had show tickets that night. Luckily the concierge gave me a line pass as there is always an incredible line at the Bellagio Buffet! Really enjoyed the buffet. Great food and deserts. Left too full!

Went to see Penn and Teller at the Rio. The show was at 9:00 PM. I pre-ordered them online. Used the code PTZOO, (directly on the Rio website, click on Penn and Teller, and then buy tickets), as I ordered and could get main floor. As said here before, I recommend floor seats and as close as possible as they are not loud and don't do really big magic! We had 7th row stage left on aisle. We all really enjoyed the show, even our 18 year old who had never even heard of them. They let you go on stage before, which was cool. And, they do a meet and greet in the lobby after the show.

We took a taxi back to Bellagio and watched a fountain show on the street to Viva Las Vegas. The fountain shows are breathtaking! They make you want to clap for an inanimate object :) More to come!

DAY TWO: My Birthday! Wanted the day to revolve around eating and exploring Vegas! We left the Bellagio 9ish that morning. Went to the Grand Lux in the Venetian, because I had to have the Red Velvet Pancakes! I wasn't disappointed. They were 3 huge Red Velvet Pancakes with choc. chips inside and Cream Cheese frosting. It was like a birthday cake. Also had a great mimosa. One dd had the brand new, (lst day served), banana/carmel/nut french toast. DH had Eggs Benedict, his favorite and other dd had an Asparagus and Mushroom Omelet. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. By them time we left there, nearing 11 there was quite a line to get in!

Explored the Venetian and took lots of photos!

The daughters decided to do Madame Trusards as they have never been. They each got a student discount, which saved a lot!

My husband and I slowly made our way to the Mirage, did a little shopping first and stopped in a casino that gives you a "fake" $50 to spend on designated machines. After the girls met us we went by the Love theatre to pick up our two tickets for the next night. Enjoyed the decorations and store outside the theatre.

We were disappointed that the tigers are no longer on display for free at the Mirage:( Walked around, saw the fishtank, etc.

Then took the tram to TI to get our 2 Mystere tickets for the next night.

Next was exploring Ceasar's Palace. DD tried to find all of the Ceasar's scene's from Hangover. She couldn't find one!

Then cut through and back to the Bellagio. Naptime for half the group, lol. Younger daughter went to the gym. She really liked it. I gambled and had some luck :) on the computerized Roulette and then slots. Then we met about 3 for the pool! Enjoyed the pool area. Spent most of the time in the water.

Back up to get ready for 6:30 dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. Got very dressed up for dinner for my birthday :) Heard/saw classical music and fountain show while headed across to Paris. Could have sat on porch, but still so hot. Had a little fountain view from where we sat. Really enjoyed our dinner! Then explored Paris. The girls loved that hotel.

Went back to change to more comfortable clothes than off to the forum shops at Ceasar's for our 9:30 resie at Max Brenner's for Desert. We ordered one sampler. It was more than enough for 4 of us. Older daughter ordered a specialty cold chocolate alchoholic drink. We all really liked it there.

Then ran to TI for their last Pirate Show at 11:30. Didn't care for that at all.

Tram back to Mirage. Caught most of their last Volcano show. Really liked that.

Then Bed! Great birthday.
