"Off Strip" activities

So, I only want to spend half our time on the strip. Below I listed the off strip things of interest that I could find. Am I missing anything?

- Hoover Dam

- Pawn Shop

- Mount Charleston

- Red Rocks hiking

- Helicopter tour

I would also suggest:

- Fremont Street (go at night so you can see the light show)

- Valley of Fire

- Neon Boneyard

- check out some off-strip properties (i.e. Rio, Palms, Hard Rock, etc.)

- if you like to shop try going to one of the outlet malls

Since you'll be out and about, visit some off-strip casinos....due south of the strip is the M Resort, and we really enjoy the buffet there. If you are out at the dam and VOF, you may also want to consider the Lake Las Vegas area although it's not as interesting as when it first opened a few years ago.
