How do you 'assault the strip' what's your 'plan of attack'

I have been researching in readiness for my trip (37 days to go!) and am so excited. I have been researching the strip and working my way down from South to North (up I guess). How do you guys go about exploring - do you start at the North or South or Downtown and do you do it bit by bit or do all the main attractions in one day or in a more orderly fashion? I would be very interested to know. Can I also just say that this forum is ace and everyone is so helpful!

I do it little by little, at a leisurely pace, with plenty of fluid and comfy shoes, in random order as the fancy takes me. If you don't make it to that next casino there's always tomorrow.

If you try to do too much you'll feel like the strip has assaulted you by the end of the day!

Most of the time I stay Center Strip (Bally's/Paris) and I generally start out at home base walk my way to PH and keep on until I reach Mandalay Bay. Of course this takes up the whole day as we gamble, eat and enjoy the sights. The second day, I'll go the opposite direction, from Bally's to the Pallazzo. Over the course of a 3/4 day trip I manage to hit all of the main strip casinos doing one side of LV Blvd at a time. As you may know, it can be a long walk between casinos - they are farther apart than they appear. So, take your time, and enjoy.

PH is Planet Hollywood.

I generally don't try to "assault" the strip...though I likely did years ago on my first trip or two.

Now, I just roll out of bed, shower, grab a coffee and danish....then just head outside and see where the desert winds blow me. Over the course of my 5-6 days on the strip each visit, I almost always somehow making it to every major property on the strip and downtown...taking it relaxed and slow.

Grab a drink and just start walking. If I feel like going in a building I do or I just keep going.

I believe from other post you are staying at EX. I would start there. Take a day to do the south end. Then work you way north through your visit. You might try making a list of the things you really what to see, and go to those when you are in the area. Stayed on the south end on our first trip it worked out great! You will have a great time!

Ballagio, Venetian, Treasure Island Areas are the best "out side" seeing areas ( fountains, lights etc). If you are starting out mid to late evening, I'd start there. Else any game plan will work. Our first time in LV ( although there was a lot of traffic and it took a long time) we drove down the strip between MGM and Caesars ( I believe) We hit the extreme North ( Wynn, Stratosphere and South ( Mandalay Bay) a little later ( fraffic was tough as I recall). We did not get to South Point until another Trip and have only been there once. We also drove to M Resort ( long drive for only one casino - but wanted to try Buffet - we did return and will go again this year - more to eat than play).

Pretend you will never be back. List those things you would be sad to miss and tuck one into each day. Might be an attraction (like the neon boneyard), a show, something specific inside a hotel (like the conservatory at the Bellagio) or a specific casino. Can you go home without seeing the fountains? So many good post here of the things that might be on your list.

My favorite memories of every trip are always of interactions with people - the great guy behind the bar, the crazy lady at the next machine, the fun people we met who had breakfast with us. Leave lots of time for those to happen which means you have to be in one place long enough.

Guess you should also decide which side of the "people-watching" thing you'd like to be on - the watched or the watcher. Really better to decide that ahead of time :)
