Resort Fees and Car Rental

Can anyone tell me about how much they are? We are looking at staying at Orleans Hotel and Casino and just wondering how much extra it will be in addition to our hotel when we include the resort fees.

Also, cany anyone tell me a good recommendation of a car rental place at/near the airport? We're trying to decide if it's worth renting a car while we're there, or just walking every where??

Any tips/advice would be great!

Orleans reservation site says this in fine print

"Rates not inclusive of Resort Fee ($6 per room, per day). Includes the following:

Local and 800 calls

Coffee in the guest rooms

10 minutes of high speed internet access in the business center

Access to the fitness center"

You won't be able to walk to other casinos easily from Orleans. But there is a free shuttle which stops at Gold Coast and also at Bills on the Strip.

As mentioned the resort fee at Orleans is $6 per night. It is not charged on comped rooms.

We just rented a mustang convertible from hot-wire for 4 days over a weekend and it was only 188 and that includes all taxes..

Another thing with renting a car from the airport you get a ride to and from the airport. The Orleans is a bit off of the strip and you wont be walking to the strip.

All of the rental car companies are located in one building called the Rental Car Center. There are free shuttles that take you from the airport to the Center.

My current favorite rental company is Alamo. They have great deals, and they also have kiosks for checking in to get your car, which allow you to bypass the counter. This is great when there are long lines at the counter! Join their Insider's club (it's free), and they will send you coupons. Just remember to check the rates on a regular basis, since they change quite a bit.

I agree on Alamo..they were suggested to be in May and between insiders clubs and some codes I found on the forums, I saved a bunch. Also they just sent me a free day, so I am using that for our two day trip, which gave me the rental for half off.

I always rent a car, Vegas is a very easy place to drive and there's free parking everywhere. Especially if you stay at the Orleans, as it's not really walking distance to anything.

What do you plan to do while you're in town? It's hard to recommend a hotel without knowing what your priorities are.

I have stayed at the Orleans twice and enjoyed it. The casino is large and is laid out in a way that makes it easy to figure out where you are. They have live entertainment (free) in a casino bar, live entertainment (free) in the Irish pub, and often have entertainers in their showroom. There are loads of food choices, fast food and sit-down restaurants, at every price point. There are also bowling alleys and movie theaters.

The rooms are very large when compared to strip hotels. Because it's off strip, the prices at the Orleans are cheaper than strip hotels. On both stays we found our rooms to be clean and the service in all areas of the hotel to be excellent.

We did use the shuttle to get to the strip a few times. The few times we used a taxi, it wasn't too expensive, because the Orleans isn't far off the strip...just too far to walk.

I hope this helps.
