MGM is usually our hotel... Considering The Signature

We are really looking at the Signature for our June 2012 trip. The vrbo offerings look really good but there are so many of them!

We are also looking at renting directly from the hotel... Lots to think about!

Would love any input/ideas that you can share!

Note:

We went to Kauai last year and it was great... loved the vrbo condo and to combine that with Las Vegas could be really great for us!

You will love the property soooo much better than staying at the MGM. The good thing is you share all the emenities such as Wet Republic. You can rent from VRBO or rent from the MGM. When renting privately such as vrbo make sure your reservation is ligit. There have been some false advertisements. I rented thru MGM. Everything was exactly as promised. Look for tower 1 when you do, it's the easiest to get to everything else. The condo was lovely.

When I stayed at the Sig at the end of Aug, I got a good rate by using a code from broadwaybox.com. Sometimes there are good codes at smartervegas.com as well. When renting through a private party, sometimes daily housekeeping is not included in the rate. Just something to take into consideration if that is important to you.

I like to order groceries from vons.com when I stay at the Sig. I order them before I leave for Vegas and pick a delivery window around the time I plan to check in. That way I have the groceries immediately. There is a minimum $50 charge but I have no prob meeting that by the time I order beer and wine coolers. Each room at the Sig has either a full size kitchen or kitchenette so I like to at least make breakfast each day in the room. I think that first time orders have free delivery but am not sure.

There is also a dvd player in the room which is nice because I enjoy watching movies while eating meals.

Have a great time!

I really enjoyed the stay at the Sig. Tower One is solid advice because you are a bit closer to the action. I prefer the rooms at the Sig--more spacious, jetted tub, and generally nicer. A lot of people complain about the walk, but it is all inside with a people mover. I was getting over back issues and didn't have that big of a problem making it to MGM.

Another plus was that it is generally less crowed than a casino hotel. Very little wait for check in, valet, or elevator.

I say go for it and let us know how you liked it!

Sign up with the Sig on their website, they will send you offers. I did this last year and booked directly with them for $83.00 per nite, plus resort fee. If you use VRBO, do your homework some rates include housekeeping, others do not. Also, if something requires maintenance, you can not deal with hotel, need to contact owner directly in most cases. I have done both, and found that booking direct with te hotel works better. One advantage to booking with owner, is you know exactly what floor, view, and tower you will be in. (usually)

I've stayed at both Sig and MGM, and I much prefer Sig. The rooms are bigger, nicer, and I love the bathrooms at Sig. :-) Often people complain about the walk to the casino, but I've never minded it. Since you'll be there during pool season, you'll be able to enjoy the quiet of the Sig pools, but still have access to the MGM pools. And the walk to the MGM pools from Sig is actually shorter than the walk from the actual MGM rooms. That's my least favorite part of staying at MGM - the hike to the pool complex.

I've booked at Sig through third parties and also through Sig proper - I've had no problems doing so either way.

Has anyone ever stayed at the 2 br suite at the Sig?

I know that its just a 1 br joined with a jr suite but was interested in this for my trip, so that the couple I am traveling with will be close but we will each still have privacy. Curious as to what they normally run in price, the youtube vid I looked at said that he got his for 290.00 a night, which would be great!

I've stayed in the 2 bedroom. I've paid less than $290 a night through Luxury Suites International, but just like any hotel, the price you pay will totally depend on what night of the week, occupancy, etc....

As you know, it is a 1 bedroom and a junior suite with a shared entryway, so you can close the doors to the outside hall and leave the inside doors open to make a 2 bedroom, or you can close off those doors, too.

You may find, though, that it is cheaper to get two junior suites in proximity to each other. Signature itself may not be able to do that for you, but most third party companies can rent you specific units so you know if they'll be close to each other.

The Sig would be the place to go.
