Hopefully your staying on the strip, and for a first trip you have to see everything on the strip

Free Shows:.

1- Bellagio Fountains.

2- Mirage Volcano.

3- Siren of TI

Also see all the amazing things in the different casinos. Far too much to mention, but the Bellagio conservatory which puts up a great display for each season of the year is a personal favorite.

Have fun!!!

Bring a pair of good walking shoes and spend several days walking several miles up and down the Strip, in and out of all the beautiful hotels/casinos, taking it all in! Enjoy!

hotel construction that are exact replicas are a must...I brought my friend who lived in Paris for a few years and he was revelling in the Paris casino facade. venetian with the michaelangelo ceilings and the gondola rides, nyny, etc..

all on the strip. then go to downtown and get a feel for 'old vegas'.

Pretty good list.

I have to disagree with an earlier poster about seeing the Sirens show...yawn, but that's just IMO.

Not my first trip, but I'm just back to the hotel room now after several hours out at Lavo and then on the strip. I'll echo what hitme said - bring comfortable shoes no matter what.

I personally recommend a visit to Margaritaville. Never been disappointed and tonight was no exception.

Just generally, if it's your first trip, you'll spend days taking it all in. I'm here for a conference and several colleagues are Vegas virgins. Seeing it all again through their eyes has made me enjoy it even more.

Join all of the reward schemes in all the casinos you visit. My sisters OH went for the first time last year, he was not a heavy gambler but has just been comped 5 nights in any CET hotel

My "must see/do" list for a first timer: Bellagio fountains/conservatory, Eiffel Tower, Mirage volcano, Forum Shops at Caesars Palace (both a mall and an attraction), Venetian canals/shops/ceilings.

Just going in and out of the casinos will take up a good chunk of time. If you have time, you should pop in them all since you never know what will "click" with you. I definitely wouldn't miss Wynn/Encore or the Cosmopolitan. Be sure to explore all three floors of one tower and the second floor of the second tower of the Cosmo. There is something to do/see down every hallway, around every corner- pool table, 9' stiletto heels, foosball, hidden pizza joint, pillars near the lobby that constantly change, antique phones, scultures/photos/paintings of every description, telescopes a bar (Chandelier Bar) that spans three floors, etc. Be sure to have a drink at the Chandelier Bar. Each level has its own menu. If you like art- there are two galleries (Chihuly/MacDonald) at CityCenter and art objects scattered around all of the complex. You can get a map of the art objects from the concierge desk at Aria.

If you have never seen a Cirque show before, this would be a good time. My favorites remain Love and Mystere. My favorite non-Cirque shows- Le Reve and Jersey Boys.

I would suggest eating at one- and only one- buffet since it is so much the Vegas thing to do. Wynn has a very good one.

If you have time at the very end of your trip and you want to get away from the strip one evening, visit downtown(Fremont Street). It has an entirely different atmosphere than the strip. Not better/not worse- just different. You may love it, you may hate it, but you should experience it (in the evening) for yourself.

For someone who hasn't been there the following is hard to understand....Just looking in all the hotels and casinos is fun to do. 17 of the largest 25 hotels in the entire world are right there on the strip within walking distance of each other. After you've done some of the things on the list above, how about glancing at a high roller table and watch someone play blackjack at $1,000/hand for a few minutes. Or watch someone at the Rulette wheel at 2 in the morning that has more money than sense.

Depending how much time you have, Hoover Dam is cool too. The engineering feat was pretty incredible for the time. Some people like the Dam tour and some people couldn't give a..... I thought it was cool.

Everyone above has given you quite a few ideas. By the time you do some of the things suggested you'll have a feel for what you'd like to do more of. Have a great trip.
