Hotel recommendation please

Hi guys would love a hotel recommendation for 1 week in June 2012 budget $450 per night. My self and husband both 40th birthday celebrations. We like modern hotels. A balcony would be nice but i have looked online and not to many hotes offer this so i feel i am restricting my choice of hotels. Pretty lively, would be good. A spa and gym, would also be good . Thanks.

For $450/nt, you will have no problem getting a very nice room in Vegas, even on weekends.

Considering you would like modern with a balcony, lively, spa--Cosmopolitan seems like the obvious choice to me.

Cosmopolitan is the only hotel I know of with balconies. It's less than a year old and gorgeous in the casino areas. The people I know who've stayed there love it. The restaurants are also really good. I would definitely splurge on this one.

Are we too old to stay there? It looks full of 20 somethings and full of the beautiful people.

All different types of people stay at all different types of places. I would not be discouraged by any stereotypes that people have about hotels in Vegas. You will not be the only 40 year olds staying there.

Cosmo does seem to be great. (I'll see it for the first time in a month or so) but I might suggest looking at a "lower priced" property and see if you can get a really nice suite, although $450/night will probably get you a great room, just about anywhere in Vegas. Enjoy!

Welcome to Las Vegas! Unless you want a very fancy suite $450 is way too much money.

As mentioned Cosmo is the only hotel that really features balconys. So you will have to decide how important this is, or you limit your choice.

Simply put; Better hotels just don't have larger or nicer rooms, they have nicer EVERYTHING. Better Spa, Better Pools, Better Dining. But not just better, also more expensive.

The top full service hotel/casinos to look at are; Cosmo, Aria, Bellagio, Wynn/Encore, Venetian/Palazzo, Mandalay Bay/THEhotel. If you have any specific questions on any of them feel free to ask.

Actually just checked the Cosmo website and you could probably get a wraparound terrace suite for a week in June, for what you said your budget was. Check out their website for details.

I would also look at Aria. Very posh and modern. We enjoyed the balcony at Cosmo but Aria is still our favorite.

Ive booked the Cosmo for a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday in Nov. I can't wait and can't wait to tell him. :-) Don't worry about it being full of young people, I'm 30 and my boyfriend is 42. I think the hotels in Vegas are too big to make anyone feel out of place. I stayed at Encore in Aug which was lovely.

I know the cosmo has 20% discount for booking in advance at the moment (direct with The cosmo), I got 20% discount which I've just arranged as i work in the travel industry and that works out cheaper than all the discount hotel sites around.

Vegas is amazing, you'll have a great time.

Trust me, the people staying at the Cosmo don't all look like the people in the ads. You'll see old, yound, wide, thin, everything in between.

The rooms are wonderul, and there is nothing quite as spectacular as the best views from the balconies. But the place does go for a young "vibe," so expect loud party music in any of the public areas.
