The ever elusive bonus round....

As one post recently mentioned the bonus round on a slot can be like crack. Which bonus round of machines currently in use do you like best? Which pays the best? The harder to get the bonus the more it pays? There's nothing worse than going to a new machine where you hit the bonus and proceed to win a handful of credits.

I am not much of a slot player, but the bonus rounds are what make the games fun, IMO. My favorites are:

1. DaVinci Diamonds. Also love the fact that more free spins can be triggered during this bonus round.

2. Lucky Penny Bright Diamonds

3. Goldfish

4. Super Jackpot Party

Love the bonus round on Dean Martin's Wild Party. Can't get enough of hearing him sing. Go Go Go Go!!

Also like the Hangover slot bonus round as it can be both entertaining and profitable.

I remember an older one called Mariachi Madness that the bonus round was decent but the graphics and sound were hillarious.

An old British machine called "Public Enemy No.1" used to have a great bonus feature.

Hearts of Venice or Griffens Gates with the hot respin. I love that bonus and have almost filled the screen with hearts.

In my experience, the newer the machine, the worse the payout. I'll usually give a new flashy one (like the Dark Knight, Alice, etc.) a go, just to see what happens, but I find the bonus rounds are hard to come by, then the payout is pretty disappointing. Then I go back to my old favorites, like Pharaoh's Fortune. There were a few new ones in Cosmo that I thought paid pretty well, though. Carribbean Dream, I think?

I prefer to play slots that give me small returns on a regular basis and bonus rounds on a somewhat regular basis, even though the payouts are smaller. I especially like the original Goldfish machines. And I had great success on Batman/Dark Knight during my October trip. However, in each bank of 4 machines, not every machine was paying regularly. I observed for quite a while to figure out which machines were coming up with regular bonuses and then waited for those machines to open. I also observed that most bonuses were won by Batman at one casino and by Dark Knight at another. Seems odd, considering that everything is dependent on the RNG. However, this was my experience, and it definitely paid off for me.

Still have a soft spot for the KittyGlitter bonus - simple but enjoyable!

Does anyone remember a game called "Slotopoly." It was a Monopoly-type game with a board at the type and a character that moved around it. They had it at Bally's back in the day, but I only ever saw it on one trip. Loved that game.
