I need some input and ideas much appreciated!

Here is the deal. I meet my friend in Vegas once or twice a year. She lives in HI and I in FL. We have explained to are spouses it is half way! LOL Time change and all it works out we end up landing at the same time! Never mind that she left the night before.

We feel like we have done it all. Rim run horseback (red rock), Drove valley of fire too hoover damn, Seen a bunch of shows, watched them build Aria then gambled in it, did a day in Laughlin, outlet shopped till are feet hurt and paid a ton in over weight baggage fees, desert valley(including Scotty's castle), Ethel M's and been in to every casino known to man.

Are goal every trip is to find something new. We love to get out of Vegas and go explore. Does anyone have any great ideas?

Possible a zip line? A hike? Do you have a cool trail you know and what did you see?

We also always include a spa day. I would like to hear some feed back on the spa's you have tried. What was the wow factor? Was the cost crazy high. I have heard one of the hotel spa has an all salt room.

Any information would be great. Let me know

Travel date is 3rd week of Feb and staying at GN (try to never stay anyplace else)

There is boulder city zip line.

The railroad tunnel hike in boulder city will take you all the way to the dam and the new bridge. If you haven't seen the dam from that view, you really should. About an 8 mile hike if you include going to the bridge.

Zion is a day trip away. About 2 1/2 hours away. Beautiful hiking and scenery.

Superk5 how do I get the info on that hike? It sounds great.

Buffaloboy44 we did the zip cord on Fremont last year and yes it is fun. Better to just sit back and watch people get stuck half way. The live ammuntion gun store has always been packed.

You could do the rides - Big Shot on the roof of Stratosphere and NYNY roller coaster.

You could play in a poker tournament.

You could visit the eiffel tower restaurant.

You could gamble in the high limit room (some affordable slots)

@ aceofdelts we love the high limit slot rooms! Not something we can do all day but we sneak in and out. What is the price like for the eiffel tower retauarant? The NYNY roller coaster is a neck killer. My friend refuses to do the statosphere ones. LOL

You may want to consider renting a car and visiting some of the other areas around Las Vegas and staying overnight at least near them.

Such as Zion National Park that was mentioned, stunning scenery there and only about a 31/2 hour drive from Las Vegas and you can stay near the Canyon with beautiful views.

Or a visit to the South or North rim of the grand Canyon, about a 5 hour drive, you can stay right near the Rim of the Canyon.

The St George, Utah area is a short 1 hour 45 min drive from Las Vegas and has some beautiful scenery in the area, and alot of interesting things to do, here is a recent thread with more info on that, see reply #17

I love buying a day pass for $45 and visiting the Qua spa at Caesars Palace. You can look on yelp for reviews. I also like purchasing a $40 day pass for the spa at Encore. Very luxurious. The stone loungers at both places are to die for! I would call to check if they have any specials for massages if you want that and what days you have to be a hotel guest to use the spa (I think that only applies on the weekends). Also, I think you can purchase gift certs at a discount at Costco for the Qua Spa (check to make sure it is good there before you purchase).

I like to look up all the shows for the dates I plan on visiting to check if there is something new I would be interested in. When I go at the end of Jan, I am going to the Bee Gees tribute show at the Excaliber. I think I should have a good time and the ticket was only $20 plus fees. I thought the free Big Elvis show at Bills was fun and I just dropped in at the last minute when I went last January. Andrew Dice Clay is a show I really want to see but never end up going to Vegas when he is performing. I loved the Cher concert, Rod Stewart, and Celine Dion when they were performing. I would check vegas.com to see who is performing the dates you are going and then check the discount websites to see if you can get a good price for the shows you want to see.

Have a great time! Please post a trip report when you return!
