Is NYNY really worth the extra money???

Still haven't decided where to stay on our upcoming Feb. 11-14th trip. It's between NYNY and Excalibur......I'm leaning more towards NYNY but is it worth the extra money?? Bringing the Family.

Yes it is. Althogh the remodeled rooms at Excalibur are much nicer than the older ones there.

How much more total over your entire stay?

Also, kids living in a castle or New York......castle probably wins with them, lol.

Flip a coin, if it was summer I would recommend Excalibur because of its better pool grounds over NYNY but, its winter and NYNY has a better casino, better restaurants and bars while the Ex is geared more towards the family.

Close to $200 for the entire stay. Neither one of my kids are much into castles so that's why I was looking into NYNY. Which atmosphere is more on the up and up?

By the way NYNY rooms can be on the small side so be careful what you book if you decide to stay there.

Make sure you take in the Piano Bar at NYNY even if you dont stay there.

I'd have said Excaliber is the choice. You might get a marginally 'better' room at NYNY bu,t as has been mentioned, it can be small. I'd save the money and you're right across the street from the rollercoaster etc.

Ny Ny is probably more refined, ish, but it's really a toss up and having kids there really means that most of the aspects that might tip one resort over the other (bars, clubs, casino area comfort, drinks service) is out of bounds anyway.

They are both economy hotels, you shouldn't pay any sizeable difference to stay at either one. If you are going to spend an extra $200 you should be able to move up a little.

Not worth the extra $200 to stay at NYNY in my opinion. Room are small. It is minutes from Excal, so stay there and spend time in NYNY by all means.

Both can be great choices for families.

If NYNY is $200 more than a widescreen room at Excalibur, I would not pay that. If that's over a basic room, reprice with a widescreen room. If it's less than $100 more for NYNY I would pay it. Be sure to included taxes and resort fees.

As mentioned, if it were pool season, I'd push for Excalibur.
