Low expectations

After a 6 year hiatus from Las Vegas, we are finally making it back. This will be a bit of a different sort of trip for us for the following reasons:

1. We are going low buck. Staying at the Riviera and taking public transportation.

2. We are going solo. Our first two trips were with friends.

3. Absolutely no plans(except maybe to see Absinthe). What happens, happens.

4. Because of the airfares/hotels, we are being forced to spend an extra day in Vegas. DANG! AND an extra $200 towards the gambling/entertainment budget...

25 days and counting...

ANY trip to Vegas is a good trip to Vegas (13 days for me, by the way).

LOL at the voice inside your head. If it's your wife, then you darn well better be listening to it, buddy.

Hope ya'll have a fantastic time.

I know u r going budget, bud the Riv right now is below budget..for the same money, stay at the IP. At least you r center strip. The Riv may as well be off strip at this point as all the places around it are closed or long gone save Circus Circus..So sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite at the Riv

for low buck dinks hit the Casino Royal. If you play at the bar they are free of course but even buying is 1 dollar for beer and 3 dollars for mixed

Listen to the voices in your head. They might be right.

I think you may have more fun on a "just the two of you" trip than on a trip with friends :)

Have fun!

I might be one of the few who like the Riv.

The updated rooms seem fine and if you are on a budget this fits the bill.

As well there is the peppermill next door.

I also think you may love being "solo". My husband and I usually do Vegas with friends or other couples. Our trip last summer was just the two of us, and I wasn't sure what it would be like. Now, I'd prefer just to go the two of us! Hope you have a wonderful trip, and congrats on your 30+ years.

We just stayed at the IP a couple of weeks ago and all other things being equal, it is a better choice to me than the Riviera because of the location.

Room was O.K. and we actually don't mind the casino at IP. But, it is close to lots of other stuff and the Riviera is not.
