First and foremost, no haters! It's my trip report so you can't say anything jerky in response. Also, I am writing this on my iPad and I'm tired so I just don't care my grammar and spelling will most likely be terrible. I'm not fixing it.

This is my first trip to Vegas and first trip report so bare with me.

I am from Minnesota but happened to be flying into Vegas from Denver. Landed around 9am. Flight was mostly uneventful. Felt tired only slept 2 hours the night before because my bf kept snoring all night driving me crazy and we had to get up early to catch our flight.

We took the shuttle to the palazzo. Check in was a little annoying but other than that I thought the hotel seemed very nice. I love the smell. Our room is clean and neat. Honestly I can't really imagine staying anywhere that isn't as nice as this hotel room. It's not that I think it is so amazing it's just that this is the kind of room I would expect to have in Vegas. I guess it's good I know that now because I definitely wouldn't have been pleased with a lot of these other places.

So after check in we went upstairs and looked around and changed and everything. We were starving so we headed straight down to grand luxe cafe. It was very good. The bf got chicken alfredo and i had a chicken cesear salad. Oh and i ordered a mimosa. Afterwards, i went to Walgreens and got a few things including a bottle of champagne (not because I'm a cheap loser like you are thinking but just because I thought it would be nice to have in the room whenever I want a glass.)

We ended up leaving the room and going to the wax museum. We loved it. My bf is just crazy funny so we enjoyed ourselves. We played some blackjack in palazzo and won a little money.

Then we decided to head down the strip a little bit as a couple we knew were down at Excalibur for a 4 hour timeshare presentation. Haha! What a bunch of clowns. They said they were getting some free stuff. I couldn't do it, no way. I'm not going to sit in a meeting in Vegas. So anyways, we walked by the hotels and the porn slippers were mostly polite. They were actually better to me than the weirdos selling crap on the side of the strip. This terrible man complimented my hair as a way to suck me into buying $100 worth of skin products. Then he told me I wear too much makeup and if I used this crap I wouldn't need to anymore. I told him I'm a hairdresser so it doesnt make sense for me to spend that money and he still kept telling me how great it is. Duh! I get this stuff at wholesale why the heck am I going to buy it from you. So then I just ran. Learned my lesson, just don't talk to anyone. Then we went to cosmopolitan to see what it was like inside. I thought it was kind of weird for some reason. I don't know. That place just rubbed me the wrong way. During that time our friends called us to say they finally made it out of the presentation with their lives and they got free play at Rio so we should meet them there. We said okay and started walking. After bellagio we looked over and saw Rio we thought to ourselves " hey that's not very far, let's just walk over". Oh heck no. It was the walk from hell. Every time we thought we were getting closer, we really weren't. We even walked on a dang freeway! It was just us and a homeless man with his right hand down his pants.

So when we finally got to the stupid rio I was dying. My bf got me some slushy drink to be nice as I think he was scared of me at this point.

To be continued....

I made that same walk to the Rio on my first trip to Vegas. I will never forget it, labor day weekend 2006. It was around 2pm, at least 95 degrees, and I was hungover. I dont know what I was thinking. I know your pain.

Interesting TR so far. Keep it coming please

So we are sitting at the rio waiting. Then our friends call us and they are at the mirage or something. I was like oh no I am not doing this. The walk to rio traumatized me on a deep level. So we grabbed a cab and headed back to palazzo. The cabbie said the strip will be blocked off for tomorrow night for the NASCAR racing so that will be cool to see.

We came inside the palazzo and played bj for a little while and lost :( then headed up to the room and got the Sunday pasta from grand luxe. We are very tired and want to rest.

So here is my question. Why is there a phone next to the toilet in my bathroom?

These days? So people can say there's a phone in the bathroom. Or possibly so they can call people and tell them they're talking to them on a phone in the bathroom.

I'm only sort of kidding, things like that are basically pointless in the cell phone age.

I remember the first time I thought something "looked like an easy walk" in Vegas.
