Paris for sure. I'm saying this never having stayed at Paris but stayed at Tropicana. Tropicana feels more like a convention centre than a Vegas resort.

I would definitely choose Paris over the Tropicana anytime. I've stayed at Paris many times in the past and loved it. Paris is a much more modern hotel whereas the Tropicana is one of the older properties on the Strip.

also Paris is much better located, in the center of the strip. Great location, especially for a first trip... everything will be within your grasp.

My vote is for Paris also. I like the location better and being connected to Ballys its like getting two for the price of one.

If you want a bit of luxury in your room, Tropicana all the way. Having stayed at both, Tropicana since it's renovation and Paris just last December, Everything in the Tropicana room is new and modern. Everything in the Paris room is old and worn. Some of the beds have been replaced, but not all of them and they can be uncomfortable as mine was in December. The Pool at Tropicana is far better then Paris.

If you don't care about your room or pool, then Paris is a good choice for a newbie due to it's central location. The casino in Paris is a lot more fun IMO, and there are more things to do on property. Having undergone renovation recently, the Super 8 on Koval has nicer rooms than Paris, and that's pretty sad.

However, if you really want your stay to be special, I would recommend the Mirage which is more expensive than Tropicana, but sometimes cheaper than Paris. Mirage will give you an excellent first time experience.

If you have narrowed your choice to Paris or Trop, go with Paris, it's where the real " feel of the strip is " all hours of the day or night. Walk out the front of casino on to LV Blvd aand you are in the middle of the action/activity.
