Rio's drink service.

Just wanted to give a big thumbs up their "bervertainer service". An attractive man or woman comes by often and takes your order on an ipad. Less than 5 minutes later - every single time - your drink is brought to you by another attractive waitress. And these are also the same young folks who dance and sing, every 20 minutes or so, or a raised platform nearby. Classy stuff there, Rio.

I was really wishing they would get this going in some of their other casinos but so far no luck.

What, so they are taking drink orders on Ipads now? In the casino? It's amazing how much changes while you are gone.

I have heard that they do that at Showboat in AC, as well. People seem to love it. Maybe CET is trying to decide whether to stick with this method or Total Touch? You would think they'd want one system across the board.

Rio was the only place where I had a male cocktail waiter. It was certainly different, the same good service was provided.

They started the ipad ordering system a few months ago at the Rio. That was the only reason we went over there last trip. I think it is a good idea by them to get people in the doors (away from the strip, palms, etc) specifically for that and then want to stay there because of the super fast service. They said in testing, drinks came in an average of 3 minutes, never more than 5. Pretty nice!

The iPad based order system is supposed to be a pilot project CET is doing with the hopes of rolling it out in all their Vegas resorts. Hopfully they decide it's a good idea soon, it seems pretty keen.

I recently stayed at imperial palace which I found good service and when I went over to meet friends for a gamble at the mirage it could take up to an hour to get 2 drinks.. For this reason the mirage will be at the bottom of the list for hotels to stay at.. I have stayed at Venetian NYNY Tropicana Excalibur Luxor Paris Planet Hollywood so I have experienced a few..

Maybe a few other hotels should take note of this idea.. I wish I knew this before I arrived home today.

We loved the new service when we stayed there last month. Also, after some very good service I tried tipping the young man with the iPad and he refused the tip telling me he could be fired for taking it so we were just generous with the actual server. A very good way to serve drinks.

Stayed at Rio 5 nights. May 6th-11th. The drink service was unbelievable! It was almost to good! I never had a drink take longer than three minutes after I ordered it. The waiters/waitresses were all very nice also. The long Island Ice Tea's...OMG! Their awesome drink service may be just enough to sway me to book there again next trip. On a side note, the free shuttle to Flamingo and Harrah's worked great also. :) Rio gets my vote hands down.

>> An attractive man

Sorry, just can't accept that. Say no to male CW's.

PS - Other than looking cool, I'm kinda curious if there is any benefit to an ipad over just writing the drink order down.
