Best time to book through smartervegas?

Hiya,

We are looking to book hotels for a trip in September, we have just booked our first 5 nights at the Flamingo, and want to stay at Planet Hollywood for the next 5. Rates are far more attractive for booking to go for May/June, so would you recommend we wait until July/August to book for the best rates? Or is there a chance this could skyrocket?

We got 5 nights at Flamingo in a standard room for $388 which seems reasonable. PH is definitely worth waiting for as we have always wanted to stay there!

Thanks!

I would recommend some research on construction around the Flamingo. going to be going on for quite some time right next door. Nothing can ruin a holiday like a jackhammer at 7 am after a night of fun. I was booked there but when I read all the posts and google articles I changed my reservation to a different hotel.

FYI - the discount codes you get from smartervegas are codes that you use when booking directly with the hotel - you do not actually book through smartervegas.

Since bookings are directly through the hotel(s) (and should be 100% refundable), it can't hurt to book now. After booking, keep checking rates and discount codes. If you can book less expensively in the future, do it and cancel the current reservation. I do this with car rentals all the time - many times I'll cancel and rebook 10-12 times.

16guage gave excellent advice but as you're from the UK, repeated cancelations and credit card refunds of deposits would be subject to exchange rate fluctuations and may end up costing you more than you think. If rates come down, it's just as easy to call the hotel and have an existing reservation adjusted to the new lower rates.

Don't assume booking direct with PH allows you to make changes to a lower rate. Booking the buffet deal from smartervegas has these rules....

Offer valid at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino. Subject to availability. Rates may vary. Minimum 2 nights, max 7. Max two 24 Hour Buffet passes valid at these Las Vegas properties: Flamingo, Harrah's, Imperial Palace, Paris, Planet Hollywood, and Rio. Guest responsible for tax and gratuity. Full deposit and credit card required. Package is non-refundable, non-transferable & cannot be combined with any other offer. Must be 21. Additional restrictions apply. Management reserves all rights.

I am not looking at the buffet deal. I have booked for Flamingo for our first half of the trip and can't see anywhere on the confirmation that it is not refundable, so i will keep watching the rates and take blaggers advice of giveing them a call if they go down - i am hoping this will work out for the best.

PH is a bit out of budget at the moment as my friend has a much tighter limit so i will keep checking on that one too!

Yes, I would wait as promo rates probably won't be out for a few more months or so. I would sit tight and see what happens. Unless you are going over a holiday weekend or something, even then, I've seen promo rates.
