1st timers! Looking for a bit of advise on itinerary

Hi Guys

It will be my boyfriends & my first time to Vegas alone in October, staying in the Cosmopolitan- Can't wait!!

As it is our first time here as adults & we are keen to try & fit everything in, despite only staying for 4 nights, I have taken the lovely TA advice & tried to knock up a bit of an itinerary.

It’s by no means concrete & I doubt very much it will be followed closely but I simply just made a note of everything we wanted to see & tried to organise it all slightly.

If anyone has any better ideas of how to get everything done with more time to relax & more importantly, drink & take it all in, then I would really appreciate your input!

Bit of background- Boyfriends 1st time, I have been before but I was 14 at the time so didnt get the full experience, aged 24 & 26, both like a drink but not really into the club scene as it will be just the 2 of us, fancy a bit of gambling for the real Vegas experience but not that big on it at home, staying at the Cosmo, arriving at 7pm Sunday & leaving for the Dominican Republic for 10 nights to recover (then New York- lucky us!) 11pm Thursday. It will also be our anniversary on the Tuesday!

So here goes:

30th Sunday 8.00 pm- Check in at Cosmopolitan, Dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, explore Ceasers Palace &Bellagio. Head back to the Cosmo, explore & drinks in a few of the bars.

1st Monday- Marquee Dayclub for a few hours, explore Planet Hollywood, Mandarin Oriental, NYNY &MGM. Dinner at Stripsteak & look around Mandalay Bay & Luxor.

2nd Tuesday- Anniversary- Grand Canyon helicopter tour during the day (3 1/2 hours) Relax around the pool during afternoon then dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant, & explore with drinks on the go Paris & Ballys. Finish the night by walking up to the Mirage volcanoes, watch the Treasure Island Pirate Show & head back to the room for drinks on the balcony watching the Bellagio fountains.

3rd Wednesday- Explore the Mirage, Venetian, Palazzo, Fashion Show Mall, lunch at Strip Burger, dinner at Jaleo then taxi to watch Penn & Teller at the Rio at 9pm. Drinks at the Voodoo Lounge & The Palms.

4th Thursday- Kind of left this day pretty much free to slot in anything we've missed or liked so much decide to do twice during the morning. Relax around the pool in the afternoon then leave for our flight to Punta Cana at 9pm. A good restaurant suggestion for dinner before we leave would be fantastic!

Any improvements or does that sound ok?

Thanks!

There can always be improvements, Jane. Always. But that sounds a pretty great itinerary to me. Just be a little more relaxed on which hotels you explore which days. You will find some demand more time and some less.

My one piece of advice: IF anyone talks about your Grand Canyon tour send me a private message...

Thanks LDN. We are pretty relaxed about it to be honest, just wanted a rough guide to attempt to stick to so we dont miss out on the things we want to see. I am so excited! Trouble is I keep researching things to do & finding more & more amazing things to try & squeeze in! hahaa

Thanks for your help!

Looks good. I personally wouldn't spend the time on the GC West tour but I'm very Las Vegas-focused when I'm out there.

They'll tell you, but note that when I saw P&T in March the ticket stub got you into Voodoo for free until 11pm. It was printed on the ticket. I didn't love Voodoo inside, but the outdoor patio has a killer view.

RE: restaurant for your last night; it's certain that as you're exploring the first three days that you'll come across a place that you'll want to go to, so I might leave that one open...

Curiosity; where are you staying in PC? We went last March and stayed in the Hard Rock Punta Cana

Many will tell you not to waste your time with the Sirens show at TI.

You don't give your exact dates and they are so important in October. The 1st couple of weeks you can pretty much count on pool weather, but after that it gets iffy. So you might have to be flexible there.

Flexibility is the key, as you will find some things in Vegas that you didn't know about. So don't tie yourself to a plan. If you come across a bar that seems like fun pop in. That's part of the fun of discovering Vegas.

Hi,

You're both young so you have energy to burn. Good for you!

Some suggestions:

When at Bellagio - see the conservatory & fountain show - (I'm sure you are thinking duh!!! - these take time not a 30 minute look-see). Same goes for the Caesar's.

Marquee Day Club - when I inquired in August it was $100.00 for two. Just mentioning it since you write you would be there a couple of hours. I would think having to pay that much you would like to make it a day or at least an afternoon.

Final thought, everything in Vegas is huge. You think it will take 5 minutes to walk from one hotel to the one next to it when in fact it may take 20 minutes when walking. A brisk walk at that. So you may find you are rushing to do everything on your list.

You are going to have a great time!

I agree with ktinca. If you see something you like the look of, do it. If it means missing a bit of extra time in a particular hotel or something, so what? It is not incumbent on you to see every scrap of the place, rather to enjoy what you do do to the fullest.

Don't stop your research. Those little finds, the added value things, are what makes a trip anywhere.

Hi

I would not want a dinner if I had just flown in from the UK. A snack at most. Also I would be very tired, don't think I could drag around 2 huge casino's, and they are huge. Your younger than me though, lol!

Hi DaveNJ, I must admit that I am not overly bothered about the GC tour either but the other half is really looking forward to it so I guess I'll have to give in on this one! He's not overly keen on helicopters either ( massively scared of heights!) so the helicopter GC tour is the comprimise haha

I didnt know the the P&T tickets gave free admission to the Voodoo Lounge either, thats great, thanks for that!

We are staying at the Zoetry Agua in PC, its our first time to PC & NY as well so really looking forward to it all!

Sounds like I am going to need all the energy I can get HSC! Im sure we will be fine. Looks like there are plenty of cool bars to stop off for a rest if we get tired :D

I read somewhere that entry into the Marquee dayclub is free for guests staying at the Cosmo, is this still true? If not, like you said $100 seems a little steep when we arent planning to stay all day! Then again if there is someone decent playing, our plans may change right there!
