original rat pack question.

hi.

sorry this is a not really a forum question but im trying to buy casino chips from the original rat pack casinos in las vegas.

can anyone tell me where they did shows. i know the sands but not sure if there were others

i have a list of the original oceans 11 casinos that were robbed in the film. flamingo, riviera, desert inn, sands and sahara.

so anywhere else that was assosciated with the rat pack would be appreciated.

thanks

They often frequented Battista's.

Frank played Caesars a lot after the Rat Pack's heyday.

I highly recommend Robert Randisi's series of Rat Pack mystery novels. Lots of old stories and details (based on lots of research) and very quick entertaining reads as well.

I think some of them frequented the Sahara and perfromed there as well. Don't think they performed there as a group.

The did The Summit at the Sands Copa room, but I think that's the only place in Vegas they performed together. I could be wrong, but I'm a pretty big fan.

Much later on Frank performed at Golden Nugget.

As mentioned earlier, Sinatra did shows at Caesars after "The Rat Pack"... Fun Fact: Jimmy Kimmel's uncle, Frank (the same "Uncle Frank" --RIP-- from "Jimmy Kimmel Live" on ABC) was one of Sinatra's personal security guards.

Dean Martin had ownership in Riviera, Sammy had ownership in Tropicana.

Dean did his "roasts" show at original MGM/ Bally's.

It was driving from Las Vegas to LA that Sammy Davis was in his car accident that took his eye out.

that's all I got.

Did you know when Sammy had his car accident the hospital refused him service? Frank took him home and hired a private nurse. Great that Frank did, sad that he had to:(

Frank Sinatra did a lot for Sammy... really paved the way for him... Good that he did it, but sad that the times made it so he had to.

And then Sammy paved the way for so many afterwards..

The link below is an interesting read on the history of Las Vegas. For rat pack era, focus on the 50's and 60's.

Lots of places claim to have Rat Pack connections in their marketing.

The link 16gauge provided is an excellent one.

I saw Dean Martin 3 times at Riviera. I think that was his main hotel.
