A tip from my shuttle driver , Tuscany Suites

Just a note for those of you considering Tuscany Suites. As he was driving me to Terrible's from the airport, he told me that if I didn't like Terrible's I might like Tuscany Suites and Casino. He said it was very nice. It is in the same area as Terrible's and a bit closer to the strip. I did see it as I drove by the next day and it looked very nice.

Well, I didn't like Terrible's, and if I do stay off the strip may try them, but I thought I would pass this along. I think there may be a more tourist type clientele at Tuscany.

Were you aware that Terrible's offers a free shuttle to and from the airport? Would have saved you delays and expense.

Due to kickbacks and other arrangements, I'm a bit wary of recommendations by shuttle or taxi drivers, especially in Vegas. Not saying that this was the case here.

Tuscany is a good all round place to stay. Nothing fancy but nice enough. Rooms are quite big, couple of good places to eat, casino is more geared to locals but nice enough to pass some time in.

Poker room where i played my first live game has since closed :-(

Tuscany is generally one of my stops when in Vegas. I casino is usually pretty quiet (which I like). You can almost always find a seat at $5 3:2 BJ or a place at the $5 craps table.

How come you were booked into (the seemingly appropriately named) Terrible's in the first place?

Just wondering.

I had actually booked the Tuscany for earlier this month, just to check it out (double booked for a night at Bally's just in case). I am looking for a quieter pool, and some "green space", and everything looked nice when I visited in Feb. Sadly, had to cancel, but they are on my list to again check out in Nov.

ShowMeVegas:

Yes, he was the shuttle Drive for Terribles. It didn't save me much though since I got a cab to and from the strip three times while I was there. It was too long of a walk and pretty hot out, and I was going to a show.

I originally booked only one night a Saturday there due to the high increase of Saturday night rates and the fact that I would be arriving very late it seemed like a waste of money. Then I changed my departure to Friday and was stuck with two nights because who wants to move three times?

So, that was one night too long........

I did enjoy the Sports book there, had nice big screens but very small, and met some nice people (I have racehorses).

All in all, the Tuscany was not too much more money although they do have a resort fee I believe.

Another distinct disadvantage of Terrible's as you found out.

Last time I stayed there, the driver was working 12 hour shifts 6 days a week and was sleeping in the shuttle overnight when we woke him up at 5:45 am for our trip to the airport. Poor guy...but handing out that type of info won't allow him to keep his job long if it gets back to management. Glad he was honest with you though.

The pool at Paris was nice, not a lot of noise and a mixed bag of people. I enjoyed it. Would not recommend the pool at Terrible's, it was just a standard pool, looked dirty.....
