Vegas Questions

Im going to vegas later this year and have some questions.I would like to know the best show to go to?I would like to meet some celebritys and maybe get some pictures also.I seen where you could pay 100 dollars and meet Holly Madison that would be cool but im not sure how the show would be.Im staying at the Flamingo and this is my first time in vegas so i would like to make the most of it.Also i would like to know some good places for resonably priced food.Ive read some places have half priced appetizers at night that would be cool. Also is there a tour of the stars homes?Any tips are appreciated. thanks

Welcome to the forum. First rule for getting good and helpful advice is to avoid long lists of diverse questions!

Ask your questions again separately for best results.

My wife and I went to see Peepshow with Holly on her opening night performance awhile back and we both really enjoyed it. Definitely worth seeing in my opinion. Also, do a happy hour search here on the forum, there was recently a whole thread and a great list of vegas happy hour specials. We are staying at the Flamingo as well this summer...have fun!

Welcome to the forums NCOGNITO88. Some of your questions are on pretty subjective questions. Best show? An example of this subjectivity is Phantom of the Opera - some people love the show and see it over and over again, I had trouble staying awake and left early (the tickets were free). I enjoyed the Blue Man Group, others hate them. Though I think it is pretty universal that most believe that Chris Angel is terrible.

Can't help you on the Holly Madison or star home tours.

Food: Food on the strip will be fairly expensive. Ellis Island is about a 10 minute walk from the Flamingo. They have a $7.99 (off menu) steak special.

Being your first time in Vegas, I would recommend that you get yourself an American Casino Guide (@ $12.50 from amazon.com). Plenty of free slot play, table game match play, and 2 for 1 food coupons to pay for itself many times over.

I can speak to Peepshow. Hubby and I saw this last summer and we loved it. Very cute and Holly is adorable. If you want to do the meet and greet you can book it through Planet Hollywood...they have a box office right by the theater.

***You can Meet Holly in person with this exclusive add-on to your PEEPSHOW ticket. Post-show meet and greet includes a Champagne Toast with Holly, Framed Professional Photo of You and Holly and an Autographed Holly Madison photo! Hurry! Space is limited, visit the Peepshow box office or call (800) 745-3000.

Do some reading and searching on your own. I know people sometimes get irked when told to search. But you're asking subjective questions, so you want a broad set of opinions.

There is food available in every possible price range. I consider Oscar's downtown to be reasonably priced. It was about $200 with drinks, appetizers and main courses and tip for the two of us. Does that meet your definition of reasonable? I'd also consider BLT burger at Mirage to be quite reasonable at more like $50 for the two of us. What do you mean by reasonable.

Most of the half priced appetizers are late afternoon happy hours. Typically 3 to 6, but hours vary.

I'd guess that meet and greet with Holly is two seconds of saying hello. I've heard good things about that show, though, and we may try it next visit. They had a sub for Holly during our last visit.

I've never seen a celebrity in Vegas. Well, maybe once at Benihana at the LVH. But I only recognized the face, couldn't put a name to him. And saw former Mayor Goodman at Oscar's (Oscar Goodman, Oscar's, get it?) I'd consider him a celebrity. And ones on stage, if that's what you mean. OK, I guess I have seen celebrities in Vegas.

I will second Ellis Island for reasonable good food. It is directly behind Ballys about a ten minute walk. Lots of good shows but need to know what your likes are. Like comedy, magic, music, etc.

Also, many hotels will have food courts that offer less expensive food than sit down restaurants.

If you get down to Fremont street, food is much more reasonable priced there. Gambling at lower limits is also better than on the strip.
