10 things you shold never say in Las Vegas

1) (wife talking to husband with a Vegas Cop nearby...."Honey....want to try the $20 trick?"

2) (at the blackjack table) "I'll split 10s please"

3) (at any casino to a cocktail waitress)"Here's a quarter"

4) (to a timeshare promoter). "Sure, I'll come to your presentation"

5) (to a woman you just met) "I Do"

6) (to a cab driver at the Airport)....Take me to Bellagio....and take the Tunnel"

7) (at the blackjack table to the drunk truck driver sitting next to you) "Man, that was stupid to split your 8's."

8) (at the sportsbook) "let me have $1000 on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to win the World Series."

9) (again at the sportsbook) "I'll put $10,000 on the Chargers to win the Super Bowl

10) (to your significant other. "lets go have a romantic dinner at Ellis Island"

To answer the splitting 10's question. 20 is an almost perfect hand in BJ. Trying to approve on a hand that has a very good chance on winning or at least pushing is very very aggressive play. Take your 20 and be very happy that you don't have 16 against a dealer 10.

Ace:

I am going to assume your question is serious and not joke.

1) ok...think about it 2 10s is a 20. The only hand that can beat you is 21. ok...lets say you split 10s....and you should happen to draw to 21 on both hands. Ok...dealer turns his/her cards over...and there's a blackjack. You now have lost 2x money you would have lost because you got greedy

2) Say that you split your 10s and end up with 2 hands which are less than 20. You turned one super solid hand into 2 weaker hands.

3) You are not playing the odds. Yes you're going to win once in awhile, but in the long run you will end up losing more money.

4) By making your split, you are showing that you don't really know what you are doing. This will create awkward situations that leads to nagging, nit picking, and a totally negative attitde at the table which makes for a very NOT SO FUN experience.

5) If you split 10s and win consistently...well the casino is going to assume you're card counting and will 86 you from the casino. They don't have to proove card counting...all they have to do is susspect it.

To add to Vegasjohn list...

11) (after one hand of $5 black jack) "Do have enough comps for a free room?"

12) (after calling one of the number on those cards) "Sure I will give you my credit card number over the phone"

13) "I can see our hotel from here. We should just walk it"

14) "$25 for the Guggenheim Museum that sounds like a good deal"

15) "Sure you kids can go down stairs just to hang out"

16) "I prefer the CSM's because I can play more hands"

17) "I'm telling you that I am really staying at MB now let me into the pool"

18) "Honey, I didn't know she was working I just sat down at the bar and she started smiling at me"

19) "What's the biggest tip you have ever received" (odds are you cannot even come close)

20) "We should club hop. The lines will not be that long"

Mountaneer:

I know that when you split aces, you only get 1 card on each ace, but I thought that when you split any other cards, you could keep on drawing cards until you hold.

From your post..."Ok...dealer turns his/her cards over...and there's a blackjack" The dealer checks for BJ, before you would have a chance to split 10's. So you couldn't lose more than your original bet. Regardless all of your other points are dead on.

Thanks...but what if the up card is a 10. Then the dealer is not obligated to turn over the cards. Though now that I think about it, I see the point that only original bet is lost. Thanks for clarifying.
