How hot 2nd week of June / What time do the pools get shaded

I know it will be hot, but how hot are we are talking? Will it be too hot to do anything but lay by the pool during the day? This is fine with me but I will be with my mom and she would prefer exploring the sights. We are staying at Wynn.. I think the pool is mostly shade bya certain time because of the buildings?. Does anyone know around what time this is?

Generally speaking that time in June sould be 100 give or take a degree or 2. For me between 11:00am and sunset, outdoor stuff is a no go, except for the pool. For many it is to hot to sit by the pool for more than an hour or 2.

See this thread for info about Wynn pool.

I am going the first two weeks in July as I got a good deal!! I have always gone in mid September other years so have not experianced the extream heat before.

Must admit I am wondering how I will get on. Am staying at the Venetian so a lot to do if I have to stay hotel based in the day. I think 20 minutes might be my limit on a sun bed( or maybe not at all!!!) Never mind casino here I come.

Our trip is in June as well ( yay). I used to always travel with my parents to Vegas and they would go in August, it was hot as fish grease that time of year. This is my first time going in June. I do plan on being by the pool as well. =)

You can walk the strip in the heat of the summer if you are properly prepared. Always have water with you and be sure to drink it-and then drink some more. Wear suntan lotion-even when you are not at the pool. Bring sunglasses. A hat also helps. Walk slowly. If you start to feel too hot, slip into the nearest casino for a rest and a drink (preferably non-alcoholic), then continue on. I always look for a shady spot at the pool and take frequent dips into the water to cool off. I am not one of those people who can bake in the sun all day. Plus- I always hear Vegas (outside the pool) calling me!

For many years I went to Vegas for just about the whole summer- all of July AND all of August- and I am still alive to tell about it. I still go every year in July or August. I don't let the heat prevent me from going anywhere during the day or night. I have even hiked at Valley of Fire during the day-and survived.

Everyone reacts differently to the heat, so there is no way of telling how the heat will affect any one person. I have friends who just couldn't take the heat and never did return to Vegas during the summer (they went other months). If necessary someone can take a cab to one area of the strip, explore it on foot and then take a cab to the next area. Cabs are readily available in Vegas.
