Some get a kick out of saying they've stayed in the pyramid, other could care less. Depends on your personal preference. I've done both and would probably opt for a pyramid room should I stay there again. I don't think the pyramid rooms have bathtubs, only showers, if that makes a difference to you.

I'm currently staying in a pyramid suite and loving it! I'm sleeping in a pyramid!! :o) That was the whole reason I wanted to stay at Luxor though :o)

Never been in a tower room though so can't compare.

My only stay at Luxor was a Pyramid room in June 2008. The angle of the pyramid meant that the sun was hitting it more directly than a standard building. The AC unit was blowing cold, the heavy window curtains were closed, but the room still was always 80+ degrees (and much hotter as you got closer to the window). If you chose a pyramid room in the summer, only get one that faces north.

Tower room was a great room. I loved it when I stayed a few years ago. But a bit out of the way to get to your room. Also has its own check in, saves the wait of the long line in the lobby.

The downside to the towers is that it is a longer walk to the casino. Other than that, the rooms are nicer in the tower.

Have stayed in a Players Suite in the Tower (2008), Pyramid Spa Suite (2009), and a Standard Tower Room (2011). The only reason I would consider staying in the Pyramid again would be in a Spa Suite, however I have heard they took the jets out of the jacuzzis, so they are only soaking tubs now. Deal breaker for me!

So, bottom line is this: If you want to be closer to the casino, stay in the Pyramid. If you want a nicer room, stay in the Tower.

We haven't stayed at Luxor in FOREVER, but at the time our research showed that the Tower rooms were nicer, and based on my experience staying there and some friends who stayed in the pyramid rooms; this was indeed the case. A little out of the way by comparison, but worth it in my opinion.

The tower rooms are newer, so you get an updated room in comparison to the pyramid rooms and more use out of your space. The pyramid rooms have some odd angles obviously. The tower rooms are also connected to the Pyramid, so it's not that inconvenient when going to the casino, restaurants, etc
