Spooky coincidences while in Vegas

Ok so after reading a few threads where people have commented on busy weekends due to conventions i thought i'd look up what was on while we are there.

Turns out the Deafnation convention is on at the Mandalay bay. This may not be of interest to a lot of people but as my OH has had to wear hearing aids since he was a toddler it was rather spooky to find this convention on. Something else to add to the list of places to go while we are there.

Has anyone else booked a trip to then find something on or had something happen that links to their everyday lives?

Not spooky but fun:) We meet a couple on a tour of the GC from Australia in Sept 2010 and enjoyed our visit but lost touch. A few weeks ago I found them here on TA! Turns out we will all be in Vegas during September 2012. Our trips overlap for 2 days:) Our trips were both planned long ago, sound like we are having good luck already. It will be great to see them again!

Was in the Forum Shops one day and heard my name being called. Ignored it at first thinking it must be for someone else. Finally turned around and it was a woman from my hometown who happened to work at the store next to mine. Weird but neat too.

On our first Vegas trip we stayed at the Mardi Gras.

We checked in and walked to the lift, the lift door opens and out gets a guy we used to work with.

We travelled over 5000 bloody miles get away from that place! lol!

not spookey or even interesting.

but my copyshop is in blacksburg virginia, home of the vt hokies.

I always buy a special edition pair on nikes with their colors, and sometimes have a polo with their logo..... never fails ill be walking and hear GO HOKIES .

my evxec host at CP had an asssistant sales host who was a huge tech fan and we actually stayed in touch during football season and she invited me to a locals bar where apparently there s a hokies fan club somewhere downtown where they get together to watch the games on saturday

We went to pick someone up from the airport (when you could wait at the gates for arrivals) and as we were waiting I heard someone calling my name. Turned out to be someone I worked with. She and her family were leaving, but we managed to have a nice chat before they had to get on the plane.

Sort of a coincidence, I guess...I was supposed to go to Vegas in February during midterm break at my university. I ended up having to postpone the trip to April. Knowing that I was going to get there eventually, the only thing I found disappointing from the postponement was that I was going to miss the Elton John concert I had a ticket for, and he was not going to be performing when I was there in April. So the days of my trip came and went and I found out that he had food poisoning (I think) and had to cancel the show I would have been at, anyway.

Twice I have run into people I play softball with or against in Vegas. Once it was in the airport getting ready for the trip home and the other time it was in the Miracle Mile shops at Planet Hollywood. So not really spooky, just a "what a coincidence" kind of moment!

Walking down the strip in front of Ceasar's I see a couple looking for someone to take their picture. Looking to be a nice guy and improve my karma I walked up to offer my services. Who would have guessed... turns out it is a guy I work with and his wife. We all have a good laugh. I take the picture and everyone goes on about their business.

Was at NYNY a couple of years ago and started to feel sick and decided to take a cab back to the Mirage. On the ride back the cabbie asked where we were from and we said Ga. He wondered if we had heard of a small town called Barnesville. We told him we were from there and he started telling us about how he used to drive fron Ca. to Barnesville in the 70's to race go carts in the world champioshps held there annually.

Just wondered what were the odds of us getting into that specific cab.
