Having to change hotel anyone give help on choices we have ?

Hi we are going to Vegas next Saturday, 30th, we were booked Into The Imperial Palace, our travel agent informed us theres major building work going on, and have offered us 4 different hotels to chose from....

Luxor Circus Circus Monte Carllo Excalibur

Has anyone any tips on which Is best, would prefer one thats close to a mono rail station, Im asthmatic so cant walk miles, they are only wanting £35 pound more If we pick Monte Carlo, the other 3 the price Is the same as what we paid.

Cheers

Chris

For £35 more; I'd go for the Monte Carlo.

For me, Circus Circus doesn't have the best location.

Definitely avoid Circus Circus as it's very poor - none of the others are monorail friendly but the monorail is not really a benefit as it is situated at the rear of the hotels and could still involve lengthy walks to/from the stations.

Personally I'd opt for Monte Carlo as it is a little better location than Luxor or Excalibur.

In order of what I would choose:

Monte Carlo is the best of those options.

They are all slightly further away from centre strip than IP and none have monorail stations. The monorail isn't a great form of transport as it's a bit of a trek through the casinos to get to the stations. By that point you'd be better off walking the strip!

There is a bus (Duece I believe it's called) up and down the strip and cabs at every hotel.

Your best bet in terms of luxury is with the Monte Carlo, followed by Luxor, Imperial Palace, Excalibur and with Circus Circus being the worst. That said, the MC is far from a party house. Many find the place dull, without any atmoshphere. But of the 5, it is the best place IMO.

Yes there is construction work around Imperial Palace and pending where your room face, it might be bothersome. But the Imperial Palace is still the best location of the 5 resorts.

The monorail, IMO, is not a good way to move around from a resort to another, especially since you are limited to one side of the Strip.

That said, the Strip from one end to another is a less than 5 miles so we're not talking triathlon here. I understand you are asmathic, and so are many of my friends who walk the Strip without issues. Just take your time and bring your meds.

another vote for Monte Carlo followed by the Luxor then Excalibur.

If you are asthmatic CC shoudln't be an option because the only option then would be bus or cab to any quality casinos

Out of the ones listed, I would choose Monte Carlo. It is the most centrally located hotel in the group. Forget Circus Circus- it is on the extreme north part of the strip. The Luxor and Excalibur on the south part of the strip and are not as nice as the MC IMHO.

All the hotels listed are on the west side of the strip and the monorail stations are on the east side. Be aware of the fact that the monorail stations are set way, way back from the strip and it can be hike to get to/from them.

Of those four options Monte Carlo is by far the best bet. At the back of the MC there is a tram that will take you to Aria/City Center or Belagio.

As far as linking up w/ the actual mono rail you would have to walk over to MGM which would be no more than 10 mins but then walk all the way thru the entire casino to the mono rail station which will probably take another 10 mins.

Luxor and Excalibur are both connected via a tram which also goes to Mandalay Bay. Exclalibur has a walkway connecting to NYNY which has a walkway that connects to MGM. Again getting to the monorail station at MGM is going to be roughly 15-20 mins from Luxor or Excalibur.

All things considered for an extra $35 MC is the best bet. I hope that helps.

Monte Carlo is the best option. It does have the tram that goes to Aria and Bellagio.

Monte Carlo by far.

And like PPs said, I don't think the monorail is going to be the help you think it is. That thing is a *hike* from the Strip. Might as well just walk & take your time then cab back to your hotel when finished.
