Excalibur - far to walk from room to strip??

I love Vegas hotels where you don't have a long walk from your room to the Strip.

On my next trip we're looking at Excalibur, I've been in it before but can't think where the elevators to the rooms are located. Can anyone tell me if it's a long walk through the casino to get from the guest elevators to the Strip or is it readily accessible?

Also, is it only Tower 2 thats been renovated?

Thanks :)

I'm a big fan of the Excalibur. But it can be a long walk down the hallway to the elevator, then a hike out to the Strip.. normal path would be a hike through the casino, then another hike from casino front door out to strip. But you can learn to take shortcuts from the elevators directly into the parking lots, and cut through the parking lot.

If you get a room near the elevator, then learn the shortcuts, it might be tolerable for you. But it doesn't sound ideal.

Yes, Tower 2 is the renovated tower with "widescreen" rooms.

Zeke is exactly correct. Excal is fine but elevators are about as far from the main entrance as they can possibly be.

Excalibur rooms are nice, but nothing special. And the hotel is right on the strip. It is not a walk from the tower to the strip like it is at Circus Circus.

for a short trip from room to the strip, try the Trop. Can't get any easier then the Paradise Tower imo.

Excalibur is set up like a big diamond. The west corner is the main entrance, the east corner is the parking lot/pool, then the north and south corners are where the room elevators are. South is where Tower 2 is which does have the renovated Widescreen rooms, but they normally make you pay for them. (The directions are using the fact that the strip runs north to south).

I love Excalibur and I even have to say that the walk from your room to the strip is not super short. I'm sure it's not as long as others like MGM Grand or Bellagio or Caesar's, but it's a little bit of a walk. From the elevator you walk along one side of the diamond-shape to the front doors, then you have to follow the walkway out and to the strip. We usually choose to walk through New York New York to get out onto the strip because it's past the Tropicana intersection and puts you right across from MGM Grand. I'd say it takes about 5-10 minutes from the front door to get out onto the strip.

Great, thanks for all your replies. Doesn't sound ideal but Excalibur is coming up with the best rates for our trip so looks like we'll have to deal with it!!

I agree about the Trop - fabulously short walk from room to strip!

you will need provisions for the journey though, from memory, there is a little coffee bar near the elevators for those who are flagging after the epic journey.....

If you stay in the Monaco Tower at the Riviera the trip to the strip is not bad!

The monaco tower rooms are renovated and were nice and clean, with awesome plush bedding and pillows, a pillowtop mattress, flat screens, etc. The best part is that the elevators are right in the casino, and it's a short walk to the street.

The downside is that it's so far from the center of the strip, but there's a bus stop right in front!

I agree, Preston, MGM is a hike! I love MGM. the hike wouldn't be so bad if the main walkways from the hotel room to the stip was crowded with people. We always cut through the machines to get around everyone. But, it's still a good jaunt.
