Project Linq

Okay, the count down is on, we are coming into town next week. Can someone update how the project is doing? I read that it is better to walk down the Ceasar's side of the strip. How bad is the noise? We are at the Flamingo? Thanks is advance....

From what I have read construction starts around 6:30 each morning. Since each day is a new one, you don't know what type of particular work or noise will be done on a given day.

I would suggest asking for a south facing room if you can get it (although they may want to charge you for view). That will face you away from the noise.

Otherwise, tuck in a couple of pairs of earplus in your carry-on just in case. I always have a few in my purse as some places like PH can get SO noisy at night.

If you are headed north, it may be easier to cross over to Caesars side, then up & then back at Harrahs vs. fighting foot traffic at the IP area. Or if you are getting a monorail pass for any reason, hop on there & take that up to Harrahs (however that is a LOT of extra walking - personally I would rather just go thru the crowds by IP vs the unnecessary distance).

I dont know what everyone is complaining about. Yes the covered walkway in front of Harrahs and IP sucks but with the fun in the casinos, why walk outside anyway??

It was fine a month ago to walk down the IP side of the street. Yeah it looks ugly and I wouldn't want to stay at IP itself (wouldn't want to without the building work to be fair!) but it was no bother to walk around outside. It wasn't noisy or dusty as far as I saw. I was there and week and passed it several times a day without trouble.

We just came back from staying at the Flamingo last week - July 2 to 7 - and had a GO room with a pool view - and never heard any noise in our room. Actually, we were at the pool every day from 8 am to 2 pm and never were bothered by much noise from the construction (maybe that's why they play the music so loud at the pool - lol).

And walking from the Flamingo to Harrahs at 2 pm in the afternoon for a slot tournament - only took 10 minutes from our room to the tournament at Harrahs.
