What's going on w the remodel.?? Having my wedding at Bellagio oct 27 2012 and putting up some guests at the Imperial.
It is a dump. I don't care what other people say, but the place is a dump and gives me the creeps.
Wow. Wedding at Bellagio, but guests staying at IP?? Compared to where the wedding is, yes, IP is THAT bad, but if you are paying for their room, they have nothing to complain about. If they don't like it, tell them to get their own room.
Sheet hole IP is.
The remodel is largely in the public spaces at this point. The corporate "blog" has more: http://lasvegasblog.harrahs.com/
Use the serach function for "linq"Edited: 13 August 2012, 16:35
The IP is probably in the bottom 4 of "resorts", and certainly in the bottom 6. But it's location is excellent and, usually, the price cannot be beat by any strip hotel.
It offers VERY basic accomodation, and there is a bizarre smell throught the property.
That said, I have stayed at the IP on numerous occasions and I have always found my room to be clean. The bedsheets are not recent, the amenities date from the 1970's and everything else is dated, old and dinged with several layers of paint to cover it. I have never been bitten by bedbugs, or ever say a cockroach.
If you intend to put your guests there, you are not doing them a favour, but free is free. Still, you may want to consider Harrah's or Flamingo and see how much it would cost.
Gas mask needed & ery smokey and don't expect rooms with views.Buffet is OVERPRICED even if you are temped to eat it.
That is very nice of you to pay for your friends, but be sure to let them know what their accomodations entail so that there will be no surprises.
The hotels exterior and public areas are being redone as part of the linq project, and construction will still be in full swing while you are there.
Its not bad at all. IP was the only hotel I would stay at during my first few trips to Vegas. Its a basic hotel and the casino is really fun. Hash house is a pretty decent place to eat. If its free, they are certainly fine.
Looking at photos travelers have taken and posted tells me it's not for me--at all. I do duck in there to gamble, but even the casino is dumpy. The construction was a mess and is not going away anytime soon.
That being said, if I had to choose between NO Vegas or Vegas at Imperial Palace, I'd stay there. No Vegas would suck more than anything! I think you are very generous to be covering the rooms for your friends that would be otherwise unable to go. Have a great wedding!
