Best pool

We are coming to Las Vegas over Labor Day weekend for a conference for my husband. We are not gamblers, so am looking for a hotel with a great pool - not party scene, just nice pool. Which hotels have great pools? I always hear Mandalay Bay has a good one and am curious what is so good about that one? Appreciate any advice.

Mandy has a great pool area, I would give it the number two ranking but during the summer months I hope you like lots of families with children, plus the Mandalay does not have one of the best locations on the strip.

Of course if your looking for something specific Like loud parties, tons of young drunks, none of these pools would fit your needs.

Other nice Pools

Bellagio

Wynn

Encore

Mandalay Bay's pool is a favorite among families because of the "beach" and lazy river. We did a cabana in a private section that was wonderfully relaxing, but I found the main area too busy with kids. It will be a hot spot for Labor Day.

On the expensive side, I love the Wynn tower suits pool. On the economical side, LVH (formerly the Hilton) had a great atmosphere. We will be at Caesars Labor Day weekend and getting daybeds on Tuesday.

Where is the conference?

On Labor Day weekend I would avoid Flamingo, Mandalay Bay, MGM, and Monte Carlo pools as they will be packed with kiddies. Your best bet would be a property with multiple pools such as Caesars or Wynn/Encore.

My husband and I stayed at the Mirage in July when he had a conference over at Caesar's Palace. I hung out at the pool and it was awesome! Tons of lounge chairs and just an overall nice relaxing atmosphere.

Do you want a pretty to look at pool, a lap pool, a quiet pool, shaded pool, sunny pool, or fun pool with slides, etc? Labor day should be packed with people, so decide on your crowd tolerance.

Everyone likes something different. I like heated, shaded, and after dark pools since I like to avoid skin cancer. Also like cocktail servers making rounds regularly even if drinks are $15 (but lounge chair poolside service ends at sunset everywhere I've found). The pools open until 10pm are Venetian 10th floor pool deck (lots of shade from surrounding building) and Platinum (non-gaming hotel nearby). I also agree like Bellagio since quiet, and morning and afternoon, easy to find shade. Marriott Chateau has a tiny pool on top of building, easy to navigate if don't want to walk miles.

Most casino hotel pools close at sunset, with the exception of the Venetian pools on the 10th floor deck. Consider the Encore, and getting a cabana there. They are exclusive to Encore guests only, while you can use both Wynn pool & Encore pools, but guests at Wynn can only use Wynn pools, not Encore's. Also on Fremont Street is Golden Nugget with a waterside pool with sharks.

If want to be in Vegas without a car, consider Hilton Grand Vacation @ Flamingo, since can get use of hot tub and their small pool open until 10pm, and also have access to use until sunset the Flamingo pools. I toured this property a few months back, and it's very nice, although construction is going on right next door for the Linq project. You may be able to book there direct or through an owner like from Redweek.com which I often use for travel.

If budget allows, I'd go to Bellagio. It is a slice right out of heaven and you don't have many kids to contend with.

Mirage is a great pool too but not as nice at Bellagio and probably more youths.
