Circus Circus lodging question.

We were in Vegas a few years ago and split our stay between Four Queens downtown and Bill's on the strip. We loved both of these places and thought that is where we would stay if we went again. However, we have a friend who is getting married in November and everyone is staying at Circus Circus. They really want everyone to stay in the same place to make it easier to make plans, meet up, etc.

I know CC does not get great reviews on here, so I was hoping for a little help. Any suggestions on the best rooms here? Otherwise, where would you suggest that is really close to here as an alternative if we decide to go that route? We only have three nights this time, so we really need to stay at CC or very very close.

Thanks much!

Personally I would skip CC but if you want to stay close did you consider the Wynn ??

Eww- well, you could always look into Stratosphere or Riviera which are both within walking distance to Circus Circus. Stratosphere is actually a nice hotel that is just in a bad location and Riviera recently had an overhaul, I believe, so they should be nicer. Why oh why did they pick Circus Circus?!

You could also just stay on strip and cab it or bus it to Circus Circus when necessary.

Riviera is just across the street. I would not want to stay at either but between the two I would stay at Riviera.

The only place that I would suggest but really not close and is not a rat hole like Circus would be Treasure Island. Dont know why anyone would want to stay at Circus, if you need low end the IP or Bills would be the better choice then Circus or anything downtown other then GN.

Staying at another property would not be too much of a hassle. Its not that difficult to get a cab from one property to another, and it won't take that long from anywhere on the Strip to CC, or to any specific place if you all plan to meet up somewhere.

LOL. I knew it was coming!

Anyhow, they picked CC because the bride's son is going along to Vegas for the wedding. Please, no snippy comments or child-rearing advice on Vegas not being for kids. I would not take my boys; however, it's not my son, he is the child of the bride, and the bride has been to Vegas before so knows where she is bringing him. Why they picked CC is not the issue since it is already a done deal, and I just need to work my stay around that. :)

I checked out the reviews and they don't look at that bad (ever really good in a lot of them); however, I noticed many of them are from 1st-time reviewers...I also liked how management addressed some concerns from a guest in the reviews. To me, it shows they are listening.

I looked at their Facebook page and it seems they have updated the casino rooms. The suites looked nice on here too.

I just thought maybe someone had some first-hand knowledge on where to stay in this immediate area. I am going to grab a map and see if I can find anything else around here.

If the main reason people don't like it is because it is just a bunch of kids running around, I get that. We usually go to more adult friendly places while on VK without our boys. However, I don't know how much time we plan on spending here, besides for what the bridal party wants to do, so I am thinking if the kiddos get on our nerves, we will just leave.

If it is because it is a budget hotel, I have stayed in plenty of them and been okay with it. We have also stayed in very nice resorts, etc., and love them too, but we usually save those for special occasions so that we can travel more often. Bill's is a budget hotel, and we loved it. We had a room overlooking the strip and fountains, though, so we got pretty lucky.

We just need a clean room and comfortable bed at the very least. Would really like a view from the room while in Vegas, but probably could do without it. A pool is not a biggie, but it would be a nice bonus. Like I said, if there is something better nearby, we would love to check that out too. We are just kind of checking our options right now.

Thanks all for the information!!!

I know several friends that have stayed at the Riviera for conventions and they said it was not that bad. We went in it to see a show and ate at the cafe and had no complaints. (other than very smokey -- but all the older hotels are) We also stopped into ciricus circus and it did appear more rundown.

I totally get why you would want to stay where everyone else is staying and not rock the boat. Besides, take it from someone in the wedding industry - brides can be crazy as the wedding date approaches! You don't want to do anything to tick her off! Ha ha

I have not personally stayed at CC, so I can't advise. I know it gets dismal reviews, but so do a lot of other places. If you do decide to stay elsewhere, the Stratosphere is decent and inexpensive. We have always had a good time, and you can jump right on the bus or take a cheap cab ride if you don't feel like walking to CC for events. Have fun, no matter where you choose!

Stay at CC if everyone else is. The bride and groom have already requested that. Seems fairly simple choice to me.
