Help Parking/ Valet Parking??? Mandalay Bay and Bellagio??

Hi

Looking for some help and guidance on parking/ valet parking please! we fly next week, 3 nights at the mandalay bay, followed by a mammoth 2000 mile 9 day road trip followed by another 3 nights LV at the Bellagio. As we're road tripping in between we're taking the car from the airport so will need to park at MB and Bellagio.

Question is this (I have looked both websites but can't see any info!) is parking free at both/ either? Is it more to valet park than regular park? i'm sure i saw somewhere some time ago that even valet was free?! but did i dream it? and if so (or even if I have to pay?) how much should i tip?!

Sorry but can't find it anywhere on hotel websites and we don't do 'valet' here and want to make sure after a v. long flight i make the right/ easiest/ and informed decision when we arrive!

Thanks!

Valet and self-parking are free at both properties. I typically tip the valet $3 or so when I pick up the car.

I personally always valet when in Las Vegas. Free valet parking is a comp that anyone (well, anyone with a car) can take advantage of. Compared to what hotels in other major cities charge for valet, it's a great deal.

You pull up to the front door, the valet greets you, a bellman takes your bags (you tip him/her also a few $), and in you go to check in. Much better, and more upscale than hunting around in the self park garage for a spot like you're in the shopping center at home...

Valet park is free except for a tip of $2 or $3 when you pick up car. Both will have a self park garage that is free.

I always use valet - just follow signs (normally to front of hotel) and leave your car, you will get a ticket which you give back to them whenever you want to collect the car.

Normally only takes a few minutes for the car to appear - so much easier rather than finding a space in self park and then trying to remember where you parked the car.

Enjoy the road trip.

I prefer the self park at Bellagio over the valet. It is one of the few properties where I prefer self park. Just follow the signs for self park. The garage is attached to the property and the doors from the garage will drop you inside the Bellagio right by the Conservatory. Very convenient for check in and for the Spa Tower.

Bellagio valet tends to be really slow with car retrieval, in my experience.

They can be a bit confusing if you have not done it before. After the first time it will be easy.

Just follow the signs when you get there. if you want valet and you get stuck in the self park line, no big deal just do that instead. no sense in trying to force it because there will be cars behind you, just go with it.

they are both free. For valet you wait by your car and give the guy your keys , he will take your name then give you a little slip, keep this slip someplace safe.

When you want your car back go to the valet pick up window and give them the slip. they will get your car, then tip him a couple dollars. i give them $5.

self parking is free.

we have just got back from Bellagio, and used the Valet it was quick and very easy , just dropped car and they took our bags first day and gave slip into the desk( well signed), and the car was no time at all, we tipped $5 as so quick and helpful. We also used the self park and again easy just follow signs and walk to the lifts. Have a wonderful time - we did!!

Do you mean you are leaving the car while you are away or dropping it back off at the airport when you are not in Vegas? There is no time limit on parking but I would be concerned if you are leaving it for a number of days that they may begin to wonder about a car never being moved.

Hi Thanks all for the replies - really useful and we'll valet park! One question - is valet ok safety wise? as it will be a rental? i ask as we just had a car stolen in the UK and suddenly all the insurance fine print became important to get the $$$ back!

Damama - no just for parking while we stay there (3 nights MB & 3 nights Bellagio) rest of the time we'll be in the car on the road!

Extremelly excited. 50 hours to go (not that i'm counting!)

IMHO, Valet is safer than self-park since that area of the parking structure isn't open to the general public.

Car theft from hotels isn't an issue as far as I can tell. There is a lot of security. If you leave your wallet on the front seat with the doors unlocked, you may find it gone, but in many years of having rental cars parked at Vegas hotels, I've never had anyone mess with my car.

Nobody is stealing a car in a Vegas casino parking lot. This city has more security cameras then any city in the world. You have to be the dumbest thieve to steal one.

"One question - is valet ok safety wise? as it will be a rental? "

In all my time over more than 25 yrs visting the US I've never had a problem with either theft from the vehicle or damage to car whenever I've used a valet.

They park strange cars all day long for a living and earn too much from tips to put it at risk by not doing a good job.
