Why is October 29th to November 1st So Expensive?

From these 4 days, monday to thursday, it costs $100 a night on average and thats imperial palace. Even downtown is expensive.

I know there are conventions but $100 a weekday night at IP and $200 at the other CET properties?

Is there a chance the rates would drop to normal rates such as $40 and under as the weeks go by?

SEMA, a huge automobile industry convention takes place 10/30 - 11/02. It's an event with around 130,000 attendees.

Does this mean there is no chance rates will go down and thus the rates will pretty much be the same?

Always book directly with the hotel well in advance. You can cancel or have your rate reduced if the asking rack goes down.

Sounds like you waited. Lesson learned if those are your only dates.

Search online for conventions in Vegas. This will let you know what timeframes are going to be a bit pricey. Leading up to SEMA you have the PBR. So two back to back big events. I find that from the US Thanksgiving to Christmas is the cheapest time to go.

I ran into this issue for Oct 17 to 22nd. The weekend was nuts. Thank you Elton John. lol.

I did the Priceline name your price and got some decent rates at the Rio. Other option, stay at a Marriott or another brand off strip. Better room than low level casinos and better rates. Free Cancel.

Ahhhh - I didn't know about the convention either! That's what it is! I booked over a month ago so rates weren't that bad but I couldn't figure it out either.
