Aria or Bellagio or maybe Paris

My husband and I are travelling to Vegas in April 2013 and these hotels have been recommended to us as I believe they are near the centre of the Strip. I like the look of Aria as it seems to be fresh and new but did read it is a long walk from the Strip. I assume it must be set back from the road and as we like to eat outside hotels, we wonder if we would be better at the Bellagio. Could anyone give me an opinion?

Unlike Bellagio which has a fricken lake between the hotel and Las Vegas Blvd. lol

I promise you that it takes less time to walk from your room at Aria to Las Vegas Blvd, than it does from your room at Bellagio. So don't let that be a factor in your decision.

Aria is newer and nicer, but that isn't really the biggest difference between the two properties. Bellagio is the biggest tourist attraction in Las Vegas. Everyone who visits Las Vegas goes to see it, no matter where they stay (including you if you stay at Aria). So the public areas are always crowded and full of energy. Many people like this and feel it is part of the LV experience.

Aria does not draw a lot of tourists. People come for the casino and restaurants, but not to see Aria as an attraction. So the atmosphere is much quieter, even a little laid back, or as quiet as a Las Vegas casino can be.

That's the biggest difference between the two hotels, the atmosphere and the different experience each provides because of this. If you are the type of person that thrives in a vibrant busy environment you will love Bellagio. If you are a person the prefers a quieter environment in your hotel then Aria is a better choice.

Paris does not belong in the same discussion, and of course this is reflected in the price.

Aria's location isn't that bad. It's connected to Monte Carlo and has a tram to Bellagio or you can walk through Vdara.

I stayed at Aria in September, and really liked it. It isn't full of tourists like Bellagio and the rooms are very modern. The one downside is that the standard rooms are just rooms, not mini suites. They are nicely appointed, with technology, but they are a little on the small size because of the space given to the bathroom and foyer/dressing area. The pool area is very nice, with plenty of loungers and good waitress service, although Bellagio has a nice pool area as well -- and April can be hit or miss for pool weather.

The one advantage for Paris is that you may be able to get a suite for the same money as a room at the other two places. ...but, you will have to get lucky. I've gotten a Le Mans suite for $90/night with an upgrade on checking in. But there are no guarantees and the room usually goes for much more. Otherwise, it's not in the same class as Aria or Bellagio.

Thats a long time from now, and many things can happen between now and then. Best pricing anywhere you stay wont be available until Feb/Mar.

I'm a big fan of Aria and agree with ktinca when it comes to your concern about the distance from Aria and the Strip. Yes, it's set back a bit from the street, but so are most of the other hotels (except for maybe Cosmo).

Most likely you will get better rates at Aria than Bellagio - look on smartervegas.com for promo codes starting at the beginning of 2013. Paris is not at the same level of quality, but it's not a bad option if you need to stick to a budget.

Like many here, I have stayed at all three of your choices.

IMO, while others may like the rooms in Paris (and they usually stay for free), I have found the regular rooms to suck. Save for the separate tub and shower, they would be a step below the super 8 at Ellis Island. The restaurants and casino are definitely positives and worth a visit, the hotel is over rated and over priced. In this comparison, you are comparing a 3 star/3 diamond resort against 4 star/5 diamond resorts, really not fair.

I will disagree somewhat with the others here. Having just come back from 6 nights at Aria, I did feel somewhat trapped since the route to the strip is not necessarily a direct route. I made lots of trips to Monte Carlo so that I could get to the strip. At Bellagio, I would start from the main tower where my room was and when I got outside of the hotel, I would be at the corner of Flamingo and the Strip, what many describe as the center of the strip.

Yes, the crowds are sometimes heavy at Bellagio, especially on the weekends, but no worse than walking on the strip and that is for the most part relegated to the conservatory area rather than the entire hotel/casino. I would call them an inconvenience, but I wouldn't let them determine if I would stay there or not.

My recommendation would be Bellagio over Aria, and you have to take that with a grain of salt since I know my stay at Bellagio is somewhat tainted due to it being a winning stay. At Aria, I just stayed within my budget and didn't really come out ahead.

Bottom line is that you won't lose with Aria or Bellagio as both will give you a high quality experience.

My choice would be Aria. I didn't find getting to the strip difficult or more time consuming than staying at the Bellagio. It is just different. What route I used depended on where I was trying to go. To go across the street to PH I would go out through Crystals. If I wanted to go to Caesars, I would take the tram to Bellagio and hop over the bridge.

I use to like Paris but I think it is no longer in the same league as the other two so I would take that off my list.

I've stayed at both Aria and Paris, and although Paris is nice, you cannot compare it to Aria. If budget isn't a concern, than definitely stay at Aria. It's modern and sophisticated with wonderful restaurant choices. And like others have said, it's not any further from the strip than the Bellagio.
