It would be real easy to say Alize, Prime, Country Club Grill, Bartolotta, etc. but these would really be pushing your budget, and limiting your menu choices based on price. And I don't think that's what you're looking for. So my list will be about 1/2 those prices. These are not good restaurants "for the money" they are good restaurants period.

Hugo's Cellar . At under $100 this restaurant should be mentioned a lot.

Noras: Flamingo & Jones A nice Italian restaurant in a strip mall not a casino.

Prime Rib Loft at Orleans

Primarily Prime Rib at South Point. Similar to to PRL so probably won't want to do both in the same trip.

The Cortez Room at Gold Coast.

Any of these will provide very nice dining experiences at substantially less than the others mentioned. By no coincidence, you will also notice that none of them are in Strip hotels.

For great food from a world-renowned chef, my choice would be Bouchon at the Venetian.

The roast chicken, alone, is a revelation.

Agree totally with ktinca. It's not about the absolute best it's about value for money.

5 nights. None of these are going to break the bank and were busy anytime I have been.

1. Top of the World (Stratosphere). Regularly slagged off but undeservedly so. worth it for experience of view.

2. Vic & Anthony's (GN). Brilliant steakhouse. worth the money

3. Maggiano's (Fashion show) . great atmosphere,

4. Range (Harrah's) closing soon, but classic type of steakhouse

5. and somewhere like Toby Keith's, Kahunaville or Jimmy Buffetts. before you laugh I know none are going to overwhelm you with culinary excellence but always have a good buzz and food is adequate if you are careful with what you order.

- Alize (Palms)

- Mix (TheHotle / Mandalay)

Craftsteak (might be a bit over budget, but damn good - MGM)

Sage (Aria)

B&B (great Italian place - Venetian)

Other than craftsteak, which may be a bit more, you can easy do $130 per person or less (unless you go crazy on drinks / wine).

Also, you could go off-strip to Firefly on Paradise Road - great tapas place, great vibe. Most of the plates run about $7-$10 each, so sharing several plates may only run you $40-$50.

Maggiano's is ok for a chain, maybe half a step above Olive Garden, but why get microwaved, pre-made entrees when there are so many places in town where the food is made fresh to order.
